Combination Attachment Handle
An attachment handle for an exercise machine includes a flexible tension member, a first ring secured to a first end of the flexible tension member, a second ring secured to a second end of the flexible tension member, and a hand grip having a bore surrounding the flexible tension member. The hand grip is slideable along the flexible tension member between the first and second rings. The hand grip defines a first shoulder at a first end of the hand grip and a second shoulder at a second end of the hand grip.
SYSTEMS FOR MECHANICALLY ASSISTING REHABILITATION OF A PATIENT
System for mechanically assisting rehabilitation of a patient. The system includes: a manipulator having at least five degrees of freedom and defining a free end; a limb support for supporting a limb of the patient, and secured relative to the free end of the manipulator; a force sensor operatively connected to the limb support to allow measuring input forces applied by the patient; and a processor communicatively connected to the force sensor, the manipulator, and a memory store which defines a scale factor. The processor is configured to control operation of the manipulator to move the limb support, and further configured so that responsive to receiving an input force measurement from the force sensor, the processor determines an applied force as a function of the input force and the scale factor.
Sliding Exercise Device
The present disclosure relates to a device or apparatus for use in exercising and physical therapy. In particular, the present disclosure relates to a sliding exercise device and system useful for exercising multiple areas of the body. The present device is particularly useful for targeting the hips, thighs, core, upper body and associated muscles for strengthening and/or rehabilitation. The device can used by individuals seeking strength and balance training but is also useful for rehabilitation. The present device is also portable, making it useful for use at a home and/or at a gym or rehabilitation facility.
Exercise Machine Support System
An exercise machine support system for providing increased versatility including inclination or declination of an exercise surface, a reduction in the overall length and width of the exercise machine, and an enhanced user interface which reduces the risk of injury. The exercise machine support system generally includes a cantilevered exercise machine which is adapted to have a variable angle of incline or decline with respect to a horizontal ground surface. The exercise machine will generally include a base and a support which extends between the base and the exercise machine. The upper end of the support is connected to the exercise machine by a first pivot such that the exercise machine pivots about the support. An adjustment device may be utilized to pivot the exercise machine and thus adjust its angle of incline. Various types of adjustment devices are disclosed, including an actuator, ratchet-and-pawl, gears, and cam.
Workout station
Exemplary embodiments of a workout station and methods of using the workout station are provided.
Balance training system, method of controlling the same, and control program
A balance training system including a riding plate; a load distribution sensor; a load sensor; a mobile body on which the riding plate, the load distribution sensor, and the load sensor are disposed; and a control unit configured to calculate a reference position based on positions of feet of a trainee detected by the load distribution sensor, then calculate a center of gravity position of the trainee based on the load detected by the load sensor, and control a movement of the mobile body based on a change of the center of gravity position with respect to the reference position. The control unit is configured to update the reference position based on the changed positions of the feet of the trainee when the change of the position of at least one of the feet of the trainee is detected by the load distribution sensor.
Apparatus reducing compensatory leg, ankle and foot movements during heel raise exercises in rehabilitation and fitness
Portable blocks of high density, closed cell foam each with a different height, in progression from shortest to tallest. The taller blocks have tops divided in half width-wise, creating an upper and lower surface. As such, a user engages the blocks with a foot of the user straddling the upper half and the lower half; wherein upon a heel raise of the user upon the block, plantar and dorsiflexion movement is achieved substantially devoid of pronation and supination.
Exercise Machine Inclination Device
An exercise machine inclination device for providing variable exercise intensity on an exercise machine by inclining the exercise machine. The exercise machine inclination device generally includes a base adapted for being positioned upon a floor, a support structure adapted for supporting the exercise machine, a hinge pivotally connecting the base and the support structure and an actuator connected between the base and the support structure, wherein the actuator adjusts an angle of the support structure.
System and method for improving a basketball player's shooting through a shots-made challenge
Systems and methods for assisting a user with creating a custom shots-made basketball practice arrangement are provided. A detector detects made basketball shots. A user interface receives a user selection of a subset of pass receipt locations for a custom shots-made basketball practice arrangement located about a basketball playing surface. A control system receives data indicating the user selection and a number of shots to be made and commands an ejector to launch basketballs to a particular one of the pass receipt locations in the subset until data is received indicating that the selected number of shots to be made are made at the particular one of said plurality of pass receipt locations, cease launching the basketballs to the particular one of the pass receipt locations, and begins launching basketballs to a second particular one of the pass receipt locations in said subset.
Device and methods for tuning a skeletal muscle
A method of differentially tuning a lower limb muscle in a human in need thereof is provided. The method includes placement of at least two calibrated, differential disturbances or protuberances under the human's feet thereby tuning a lower limb muscle.
