Axial fluid spray nozzle with vent valve
A spray nozzle comprising: a body comprising a duct, a seat arranged at the first end, and including an opening forming an inlet, a guide comprising a tubular jacket and a retaining member, the retaining member retaining the jacket in the duct, a plug mounted to slide axially in the channel of the jacket, the plug being pushed back against the opening by a spring, and in abutment against the bottom of the jacket, the guide comprising a radial vent, which comprises a vent channel isolated from the flow of fluid and connecting the inside of the guide jacket to a bore formed in the body of the spray nozzle.
GDCI engine with accelerated oil warm-up
A piston oil squirter is selectively opened when an oil temperature is below a threshold oil temperature to transfer heat from the combustion chamber and heat the oil more rapidly when the engine is cold.

Passive piston cooling nozzle control with low speed hot running protection
Systems and devices are disclosed for controlling fluid flow to piston cooling nozzles with a fluid flow control device configured to open when an internal combustion engine requires piston cooling at high speed but remains open for a period of time after the engine speed drops below a threshold to prevent heat soak damage to the pistons.
Diagnostic method for an oil piston cooling jet valve, diagnostic device, control unit, motor vehicle
A diagnostic method for an oil piston cooling jet valve of an oil pressure system of an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, including: Driving the OPCJ valve for detecting oil pressure diagnostic data if multiple enabling conditions have been met, the multiple enabling conditions including: Presence of a stationary operation of the internal combustion engine; presence of a predetermined operating range; presence of an oil temperature within a predetermined oil temperature range; prevention of a scheduled driving of the OPCJ valve for regular piston cooling; and prevention of an error of the oil pressure system. The diagnostic method further including: Determining whether an oil pressure measuring point is within a predefined oil pressure measuring point range. The invention further relates to a diagnostic device, a control unit and a motor vehicle, which are each suitable or configured for carrying out the method.

ENGINE ASSEMBLY
An engine assembly is provided. The engine assembly comprises an oil system comprising: a first oil pump configured to supply oil at a first pressure to one or more first components of the engine assembly; and a second oil pump configured to supply oil at a second pressure to one or more second components of the engine assembly, the second pressure being higher than the first pressure; wherein the second oil pump is provided adjacent to a valve train of the engine assembly.
PISTON COOLING DEVICE
A cooling cavity is provided inside a piston of an internal combustion engine. Inlet/outlet holes of the cooling cavity are provided in a bottom surface of the piston. A first oil jet that sprays oil toward the inlet/outlet hole, a second oil jet that sprays oil toward a part different from the inlet/outlet hole are included. The first oil jet is caused to spray oil in preference to the second oil jet.
