RADIATOR FAN
This radiator fan for cooling a radiator has: a rotating member that rotates due to rotation of an engine; blade members that are provided on the peripheral surface of the rotating member such that the angle of surfaces that receive air is changed; a moving member, which is provided in the rotating member, and which moves toward the peripheral surface of the rotating member due to centrifugal force generated by means of the rotation of the rotating member; and a connecting member, which is connected to the moving member and the blade members, transmits the movement of the moving member to the blade members, and changes the angle of the surfaces.
AIR INTAKE SCREEN DEBRIS SENSING
An air intake screen debris cleaning system may include an intake screen through which air is drawn in a first direction for cooling, a reverse airflow generation system to create a reverse airflow in a second direction opposite the first direction to clear debris from the intake screen, a sensor to sense debris that is collected on the intake screen and a controller to activate the reverse airflow generation system based upon signals from the sensor. In one implementation, the sensor comprises an emitter to emit a sensor beam that extends along a face of the air intake screen and which does not intersect or pass through the air intake screen prior to being sensed.

Control device for vehicle
A control device for a vehicle includes a grille shutter ECU that is connected to a LIN communication line and controls driving of a grille shutter, and an engine ECU that is connected to the LIN communication line so as to be able to establish communication with the grille shutter ECU. In the case of detecting an abnormality in the communication, if a predetermine threshold time or more has elapsed since a start of the vehicle, and if cumulative time that a detection result of a vehicle speed sensor is equal to or more than a predetermined vehicle speed threshold value, is equal to or more than a cumulative threshold value, and a number of starts of the vehicle is equal to or more than a predetermined trip number, the engine ECU determines that the detected abnormality is a failure in the LIN communication.

A vane for turbomachinery, such as, for example, an aircraft turbojet or turbofan engine, or an aircraft turboprop engine. The vane includes: (i) a first deicing fluid flow circuit inside the vane; (ii) a second deicing fluid flow circuit inside the vane; and (iii) a selector for directing the majority of the fluid towards the first circuit when the turbomachinery is in a first operating state, and for directing the majority of the fluid towards the second circuit when the turbomachinery is in a second operating state.
VARIABLE PITCH FAN ASSEMBLY WITH BLADE PITCH INDICATION
A variable pitch fan assembly comprises a fan configured to rotate about a fan rotation axis and comprising blades with a pitch that is variable, a piston connected to the fan and configured to move axially relative to the fan rotation axis to change the pitch of the blades, a rotary crank arm yieldably biased toward the piston, and a motion transmitter positioned in communication with the piston and the crank arm to transmit motion axially therebetween relative to the fan rotation axis, and a sensor positioned to detect an angular position of the crank arm, the angular position indicative of the pitch of the blades.
Method for controlling the pitch angle of blades of an engine cooling fan
A method for controlling a pitch angle of blades of a cooling fan of associated with a radiator of an engine, the blades extending radially from a central hub, the fan having an axis. The method includes regulating a pitch angle of the blades from a first limit value for which a cooling flux of the cooling fan has a first value to a second limit value for which the cooling flux has a second value greater than the first value. The pitch angle is determined based on quantities measured in the engine. The method further includes steps of detecting an engine speed; calculating a first derivative of the engine speed to detect accelerations of the engine; comparing the calculated first derivative with a threshold value and if the calculated first derivative is greater than the threshold value, setting the pitch angle to the first minimum limit value.
