Physical Therapy Device For Lower Limbs And Therapeutic Methods Thereof
A device and methods for bilateral or unilateral physical therapy of lower limbs are disclosed. The device comprises a curved rail mounted on a base and a pair of support members configured to accommodate a portion of a leg of a person, and to slide along the curved rail. The curved rail allows lateral movements of the lower limbs with the support members, the movements being driven by a force of the lower limbs. The methods of the invention allow physical unilateral or bilateral therapy of lower limbs of a person. The initial reinforcement of the lower limbs of a person is improved by the use of this device, which reduces the friction or the resistance caused by the device during the prescribed movements. The invention provides to patients with severe lower limb disability, a physical therapy device that is easy to use with minimum supervision by a physical therapist.
Person support apparatuses having exercise therapy features
Person support apparatuses having exercise features are disclosed herein. In various embodiments, a person support apparatus includes a support surface, a footboard, a sensor, and a passive resistance mechanism. The support surface has a foot end and a head end, and the footboard is located near the foot end of the support surface, extending above the support surface. The footboard may include a pressure surface positioned to receive a pressing force. The footboard is freely slidable from an extended position to a retracted position with respect to the foot end of the support surface. The sensor provides a signal indicative of a magnitude of the pressing force incident on the pressure surface of the footboard. The passive resistance mechanism is coupled to the footboard, and resists a motion of the footboard to the extended position.
Apparatus for exercise
An apparatus for exercise, the apparatus including a support frame having a pivot point and a support bed pivotally connected to the support frame at the pivot point and moveable between a first substantially vertical position to a plurality of second horizontal or declined positions. The apparatus further includes a handle grip assembly connected to the support bed for movement with the support bed relative to the support frame, the handle grip assembly having a first grip and a spaced apart second grip moveable between a narrow position and a plurality of spaced configurations relative to a longitudinal axis of the support bed. The apparatus also includes an inclined arm pivotally connected between the support bed and the support frame and effectively defining a first effective length between the support bed and support frame and a different plurality of second effective lengths between the support bed and the support frame.
EXERCISE METHOD AND DEVICE
The present invention relates to an apparatus for strengthening thigh and hip muscles. The apparatus according to the present invention enables a user to perform a movement in which a portion of the body connected to an arm rotates by using hip joint of the user as a pivot axis and simultaneously enables the user to perform a movement of compressing legs by providing the arm having one end connected to the pivot axis wherein the pivot axis is located close to a seat and allows a length of the arm to be extended and then restored according to a rotation angle.
Multi-axis adjustable exercise machine
A multi-axis adjustable exercise machine which is pivotable about both a pitch axis and a roll axis with respect to a base for allowing an exerciser to perform a wide range of exercises on a pitched or rolled exercise machine. The multi-axis adjustable exercise machine generally includes an exercise machine which is adjustable with respect to a base. The exercise machine may be pivoted about a roll axis to adjust the roll angle of the exercise machine or may be pivoted about a pitch axis to adjust the pitch angle of the exercise machine. One or more actuators may be connected between the base and the exercise machine to effectuate the pivoting of the exercise machine about either or both axes with respect to the base.
Exercise Machine Inclination Device
An exercise machine inclination device for providing variable exercise intensity on an exercise machine by inclining the exercise machine. The exercise machine inclination device generally includes a base adapted for being positioned upon a floor, a support structure adapted for supporting an exercise machine, a hinge pivotally connecting the base and the support structure and an actuator connected between the base and the support structure, wherein the actuator adjusts an angle of the support structure.
BATH FOR EXERCISING
Bath for exercising, the bath containing substantially vertical wall portion, and a suitably configured bath bottom, from which extends an exercise base, wherein the bath bottom is formed so that the bath is the deepest in the area where the person lying on the exercise base reaches when moving her legs, the bath is lower in the area where she reaches when moving her arms, wherein the bath bottom is shaped so that in the top view it follows the trajectory of the user can reach when moving her limbs.
BALANCE BOARD FITNESS TRAINING DEVICE
A balance board fitness training device is provided. The fitness training device may include a deck having a top surface, a bottom surface, and opposing first and second side edges and opposing front and rear longitudinal edges together forming a perimeter of the deck; at least one wheel bracket structure positioned below the deck, the at least one wheel bracket structure rotatably supporting at least two wheels and configured so as to be movable relative to the deck about a pivot line at least partially extending between the opposing first and second side edges of the deck; and at least one resilient member connected to the at least one wheel bracket structure and the deck.
Exercise Machine Support System
An exercise machine support system for providing increased versatility including inclination or declination of an exercise surface, a reduction in the overall length and width of the exercise machine, and an enhanced user interface which reduces the risk of injury. The exercise machine support system generally includes a cantilevered exercise machine which is adapted to have a variable angle of incline or decline with respect to a horizontal ground surface. The exercise machine will generally include a base and a support which extends between the base and the exercise machine. The upper end of the support is connected to the exercise machine by a first pivot such that the exercise machine pivots about the support. An adjustment device may be utilized to pivot the exercise machine and thus adjust its angle of incline. Various types of adjustment devices are disclosed, including an actuator, ratchet-and-pawl, gears, and cam.
