Cooling device
A cooling device uses siphon circulation whose heat source is an object-to-be-cooled installed in a vehicle to circulate refrigerant to the object-to-be-cooled, the cooling device including: a tank that is disposed above the object-to-be-cooled and stores the refrigerant; an outflow path that opens to the inside of the tank and through which the refrigerant flows out; a passage member that extends from the inside to the outside of the tank, with an open end of an inside section of the passage member positioned inside the tank being positioned above an opening of the outflow path; and identifying means that is provided at an outside section of the passage member positioned outside the tank and by which the position of the open end inside the tank can be identified.
Fluid Hose Splice Assembly
A fluid hose splice assembly for visually diagnosing fluid flowing through a fluid hose includes a tube that is spliceable into an existing fluid hose such that a fluid flows through the tube. The tube is comprised of a translucent material thereby facilitating the fluid to be visible through the tube for diagnostic observation of the fluid. The tube has a plurality of observation windows that are each integrated into the tube. Each of the observation windows is convexly arcuate with respect to the tube to enhance visibility of the fluid flowing through the tube.
Apparatus for controlling engine and method thereof
An apparatus for controlling an engine and a method thereof are provided. The apparatus includes an integrated thermal management (ITM) that adjusts opening of a plurality of valves as a cam rotates and a storage that stores a table for differential pressure between a front end and a rear end of each of the plurality of valves, based on an engine revolution per minute (RPM) and an ITM angle. A controller determines a state of the ITM and adjusts opening degrees of the plurality of valves depending on the differential pressure of the valve, based on the differential pressure table based on the state of the ITM.

Vehicle air-conditioning system and method of operation
A vehicle air-conditioning system and a method for operating that vehicle air-conditioning system in dependence on the difference between the temperature of the engine coolant at the inlet into the heating heat exchanger and the temperature of the air at the outlet out of the heating heat exchanger are provided. The measured or estimated temperatures of the coolant at the inlet into the heating heat exchanger and of the air at the outlet out of the heating heat exchanger are checked to determine whether their values indicate fault states of components of the air-conditioning system.

Method for diagnosing lack of coolant supplied to coolant pump of vehicle
A method for diagnosing a lack of coolant includes: (a) determining whether a target revolution per minute (RPM) of a coolant pump is set to be constantly maintained for a first time, which is preset, or more, (b) calculating an actual average RPM and an actual average driving current of the coolant pump for a second time, which is preset to be shorter than the first time, when the target RPM is set to be constantly maintained for the first time, and (c) determining whether the coolant to be supplied to the coolant pump is insufficient, based on the actual average RPM and the actual average driving current.
Coolant leak diagnosis
A method of diagnosing a leak in a coolant system of an automobile includes repeatedly measuring the coolant level within the coolant system at a pre-determined time interval, calculating a short term leak rate, wherein the short term leak rate is the rate of coolant leakage over a first pre-determined length of time, calculating a long term leak rate, wherein the long term leak rate is the rate of coolant leakage over a second pre-determined length of time, further wherein the second pre-determined length of time is longer than the first pre-determined length of time, identifying a coolant system leakage state based on a current coolant level within the coolant system, the short term leak rate, and the long term leak rate, and providing notification of the coolant system leakage state to an operator of the vehicle.
