Cooling apparatus of internal combustion engine
The cooling apparatus of the engine according to the invention supplies the cooling water directly to the cylinder block water passage from the cylinder head water passage when the engine temperature is between first and second temperatures, and a supply of the cooling water to the heat exchanger is not requested. The first and second temperatures are lower than the engine completely-warmed temperature. The apparatus supplies the cooling water discharged from the cylinder block and head water passages, to the water passages through the heat exchanger when the engine temperature is between the second temperature and the engine completely-warmed temperature, and the supply of the cooling water to the heat exchanger is not requested.
ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM AND METHOD
Methods and systems are provided for expediting engine cooling while reducing the overall energy consumption of the engine cooling system's components. A first circulation pump is used to pump coolant through an engine block as a function of engine output while a second radiator pump is selectively operated when a thermostat valve is open to pump coolant through a radiator and the engine block to effect the engine coolant temperature. Operation of the second pump is coordinated with the operation of a radiator cooling fan and grille shutters to improve radiator performance.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING A VARIABLE SPEED WATER PUMP
Systems and methods for providing an improved strategy for controlling a variable speed water pump in a vehicle. In some embodiments, more than one water pump speed function is calculated based on values obtained from vehicle sensors, and a controller chooses among the water pump speed function results to set a water pump speed. In some embodiments, the water pump speed is increased when driveline torque is greater than a threshold amount for an amount of time that varies based on the driveline torque. In some embodiments, ambient temperature is considered while determining whether the water pump should provide full coolant flow to an auxiliary coolant loop of a trailer.
Airflow control system for an agricultural machine
Agricultural machines such as sprayers can be improved by providing a control system configured to adjust an engine cooling package fan with variable speeds, to thereby minimize parasitic losses, based on progress of the HVAC system for attaining a desired temperature in the operator cab. In one aspect, as a gap between actual and desired temperatures (temperature differential) in the cab minimizes, the cooling package fan can be variably adjusted to increase or decrease in speed, depending on heating or cooling occurring in the cab, respectively. However, if a temperature of an area in the engine compartment reaches a predetermined threshold, such variable speed control can cease, and the cooling package fan can instead be controlled to cool the area.

ENGINE CONTROLLER, AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM, AND PROGRAM FOR AIR-CONDITIONING CONTROLLER
An engine controller includes a reading section and a ratio-setting control section. The reading section is included in an air conditioner. The air conditioner draws an air into an air-conditioner housing, heats the air by a cooling water cooling the engine, and blows the air into a vehicle compartment. The reading section reads a state information that relates to a state of the air conditioner having an effect on an outside-air drawing ratio. The outside-air drawing ratio is a ratio of a volume of an outside air to a total volume of the outside air and an inside air. The ratio-setting control section decreases an amount of heat generated by the engine when the outside-air drawing ratio is a second ratio, which is smaller than a first ratio, to be smaller than an amount of heat generated by the engine when the outside-air drawing ratio is the first ratio.
PHEV heating modes to provide cabin comfort
A vehicle is disclosed that has multiple coolant paths selected by control of a valve. A valve system is configured to direct coolant from an engine to a heat exchanger according to a difference between a temperature associated with the engine and a temperature associated with the heat exchanger. The valve system is also configured to direct coolant from the engine to an electric heater and to, in response to a heat demanded from the heat exchanger being greater than a heat capability of the electric heater, request the engine to run. A method is disclosed for controlling a valve to change from an isolation position in which the valve isolates coolant circulating through an electric heater and the valve from coolant circulating through an engine to a non-isolation position in which the valve directs coolant from the engine to the electric heater.
Apparatus for controlling ITM for vehicle and method thereof
An Integrated thermal management valve (ITM) control apparatus of a vehicle includes a driving information generator that generates driving information of the vehicle, a refrigerant pressure measuring device that measures a refrigerant pressure of a vehicle air conditioner of the vehicle, and an ITM controller that is configured to control the ITM of the vehicle, according to the generated driving information and the measured refrigerant pressure.
