Work machine

Provided is a work machine capable of notifying that maintenance is necessary due to continuation of clogging in a cooling device or decrease in cooling performance. A wheel loader 1 including a radiator 31 and an oil cooler 32 comprises a controller 5, 5A configured to determine a clogging continuation state of the radiator 31 or the oil cooler 32. The controller 5, 5A determines whether clogging is occurring in the radiator 31 or the oil cooler 32 based on outside air temperature AW and cooling water temperature CW or hydraulic oil temperature HW, determines whether the clogging continues based on a clogging occurrence ratio R1, R2 while an engine 30 is operating, and outputs a notification command signal for providing the alarm buzzer 61 and the user management system 62 with a command to notify that maintenance is necessary when it is determined that the clogging continues.

A vehicle includes first and second heat exchangers, a shutter member, first and second detectors, and a control device. The first and second heat exchangers are disposed in an engine room. The first heat exchanger is used for cooling of an engine. The second heat exchanger is used for recovery of exhaust heat of the engine. The shutter member opens and closes a grille opening in a front portion of the engine room. The first detector detects a feed forward system parameter indicating a sign of a load increase the first exchanger or the second heat exchanger. The second detector detects a feedback system parameter indicating that a load in the first exchanger or the second heat exchangers has increased. The control device controls opening and closing of the shutter member and adjusts an opening degree of the shutter member based on the feed forward and feedback system parameters.

Dynamic control for vehicle coolant

A system comprising a computer including a processor and a memory, the memory including instructions such that the processor is programmed to: receive at least one of expected upcoming traffic behavior or actual upcoming traffic behavior corresponding to an upcoming segment of a roadway being traversed by a vehicle; adjust a radiator hysteresis timer based on the expected upcoming traffic behavior or the actual upcoming traffic behavior; and transmit a control signal to an actuator to actuate a radiator fan based on the adjusted radiator hysteresis timer.

ELECTRIC MOTOR AND CONTROL UNIT COOLING SYSTEM

The present disclosure is directed to a cooling system for a system, such as an electric power assisted steering (EPAS) system and the components of such system, such as a motor. The cooling system includes a temperature sensor coupled to an electric motor of the EPAS system, one or more fluid reservoirs, and a fluid transfer device coupled to the motor and to the first fluid reservoirs. The fluid transfer device extends along a length of the motor. The cooling system further includes a pump coupled to the fluid reservoir and the fluid transfer device, a control unit coupled to the sensor and the pump. The control unit is configured to activate the pump in response to temperature detected by the sensor being greater than or equal to a first threshold motor temperature. The pump transfers the fluid in the fluid reservoirs to the fluid transfer device for absorbing the heat of the motor. The fluid transfer device is configured to contain the transferred fluid.

Method of controlling cooling water temperature of an engine in which the lower limit value of engine rotation speed is set according to outside air temperature and vehicle speed. When the vehicle starts traveling, a temperature raising-state lower limit rotation speed is set to raise the cooling water temperature to a third threshold value. After the cooling water temperature is raised to the third threshold value, the lower limit value is not set. If the cooling water temperature drops to a second threshold value, a maintaining-state lower limit rotation speed lower than the temperature raising-state lower limit rotation speed is set to raise the cooling water temperature. If the cooling water temperature does not rise but drops to a first threshold value, a temperature re-raising-state lower limit rotation speed lower than the temperature raising-state lower limit rotation speed and higher than the maintaining-state lower limit rotation speed is set.

Method and system for managing the monitoring of an engine cooling system

Methods and systems for managing a monitoring of an engine cooling system. A transient condition associated with an engine system is identified. A determination is made as to whether the transient condition is a delay condition based on whether the transient condition exceeds a transient threshold. A determination is made, in response to a determination that the transient condition is not the delay condition, as to whether a period of time that has passed since a previously identified delay condition meets a time threshold. Monitoring of a health of the engine cooling system is enabled in response to a determination that the period of time meets the time threshold.

System and method for engine cooling system

Methods and systems are provided for adjusting operation of each of a pump and a fan of an engine cooling system. In one example, a method may include adjusting a speed of the pump and a speed of the fan based on one or more of a temperature of coolant entering a heat exchanger of the cooling system, a temperature of air exiting the heat exchanger, and a temperature of air entering the heat exchanger.
