TWO-STAGE PRECOMBUSTION CHAMBER FOR LARGE BORE GAS ENGINES

In certain embodiments, a two-stage precombustion chamber may be used to reduce engine NOx levels, with fueled precombustion chambers, while maintaining comparable engine power output and thermal efficiency. One or more fuel admission points may be located in either the first prechamber stage or the second prechamber stage. A more efficient overall combustion characterized by low levels of NOx formation may be achieved by a two-stage precombustion chamber system while generating very high energy flame jets emerging from the second prechamber stage into the main combustion chamber. A first prechamber stage may be substantially smaller than a second prechamber stage. The volumes and aspect ratios of the two prechamber stages, along with the location of the electrodes within the first stage prechamber, the hole patterns, angles and the separate fueling, may be selected to create a distribution of fuel concentration that is substantially higher in the first stage prechamber compared to the second prechamber stage.

Ducted combustion systems utilizing duct cooling

A ducted combustion system is disclosed. The ducted combustion system may include a combustion chamber and a fuel injector in fluid connection with the combustion chamber and including at least one orifice opening from an injector tip of the fuel injector, the at least one orifice injecting fuel into the combustion chamber as at least one fuel jet. The system may further include at least one duct disposed within the combustion chamber such that the at least one fuel jet, at least partially, enters the at least one duct upon being injected into the combustion chamber. The system may further include a duct cooling system configured to cool a mixture of fuel and air of the at least one fuel jet.

The present invention provides a power device generating greater propelling force and finds that traditional power devices do not include all propelling forces based on the fundamental core propelling force source problem. External pressure is guided to the traditional power devices since the inner speed is higher the outer speed, power consumption for overcoming fluid resistance is high, and mutual contradiction results are obtained. The unique difference between the present invention and general common sense lies in opposite fluid pressure directions; inner fluid channels and outer fluid channels with higher flow speeds are formed to generate pressure differences which guides the fluid pressure to the outside and serve as propelling force, and thus the present invention creatively finds three propelling force sources, two lifting force or propelling force sources of helicopters or airplanes driven by propellers and two propelling force sources for sufficient burning of fuel in combustion chambers of engines.
