Vehicle engine air supply condensation control
A system for controlling condensation associated with a vehicle engine air supply includes a shutter assembly configured to selectively allow airflow through the shutter assembly. An air supply cooler is configured to provide intake air to an engine. The air supply cooler is situated near the shutter assembly such that air flowing through the shutter assembly is incident on an exterior of the air supply cooler. A controller determines when at least one condition exists that is conducive to condensation within the air supply cooler and controls the shutter assembly to alter an amount of air incident on the exterior of the air supply cooler for controlling condensation in the air supply cooler.

with these three exchangers being placed in this order and inserted in the circulation direction of the water between the radiator hose for supplying the cooling water and the radiator hose for discharging this same cooling water.
ENGINE SYSTEM OF VEHICLE
The present disclosure provides an engine system of a vehicle including an engine having combustion chambers for generating driving torque by burning fuel; an intake line in which fresh air flowing into the combustion chambers flows; an exhaust line in which exhaust gas exhausted from the combustion chambers flows; a recirculation line connecting the exhaust line and the intake line; a turbocharger including a turbine disposed at the exhaust line and rotated by the exhaust gas from the combustion chambers, and a compressor disposed at the intake line and rotated together with the turbine and compressing fresh air; an exhaust gas recirculation valve disposed at the connection of the recirculation line and the intake line to adjust an exhaust gas recirculation gas amount supplied to the intake line through the recirculation line; and a remaining gas elimination apparatus for supplying gas remaining in the intake line to the recirculation line.
Detecting a State of an Air Diverter Valve of an Air Induction System for a Vehicle
Examples of the present disclosure describe systems and methods for determining a state of an air diverter valve of an air induction system of a vehicle. The determined state of the air diverter valve may be based on an intercooler-based estimated ambient air temperature and a comparison between an ambient air temperature sensor value and a pre-compressor sensor value.
System and method for controlling canister purging
Methods and systems are provided for controlling canister purge flow in a boosted engine. An example method for the boosted engine comprises, during boosted conditions, flowing stored fuel vapors from a canister into an ejector coupled in a compressor bypass passage, the flowing bypassing a canister purge valve. The method further comprises, responsive to a canister load higher than a threshold load, closing a canister vent valve coupled to the canister, and discontinuing flowing stored fuel vapors from the canister into the ejector.
Controller
A controller calculates a specific humidity of an intake air based on a relative humidity of the intake air, an intake air temperature, and an intake air pressure. Then the controller calculates a water vapor amount in the intake air based on the specific humidity and a mass flow rate of the intake air obtained from an air intake rate. By calculating the water vapor amount in the intake air based on information that directly represents the status of the intake air, this water vapor amount may be calculated more accurately. As a result, a generation amount of condensed water may be estimated more accurately. Therefore, accumulation of condensed water may be suppressed while recirculating as much of a low pressure exhaust gas as possible, and thus fuel economy may be sufficiently improved.
COOLING ARRANGEMENT FOR COOLING CHARGE AIR OF A SUPERCHARGED INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A cooling arrangement for cooling charge air of a supercharged internal combustion engine. In a charge-air line that leads to the internal combustion engine, there are provided a compressor arrangement, which has at least one compressor stage, and an expansion arrangement, which has at least one expansion stage for lowering the pressure level and thus for cooling the charge air. A cooling device is provided between the compressor arrangement and the expansion arrangement. The at least one compressor stage and the at least one expansion stage are connected in series and are respectively connected in terms of drive to an electric motor. The compressor arrangement has at least two compressor stages connected in parallel.
Internal combustion engine, vehicle equipped with same, and control method therefor
A supercharger and a turbocharger are provided, as well as a load sensor detecting a traction load of a trailer towed by a semi-trailer and being arranged in a coupler. A combined supercharging and turbocharging is performed by the supercharger and the turbocharger when the traction load is heavier than a previously defined traction determination value. Only supercharging is performed by the turbocharger when the traction load is not more than the traction determination value.
Condensation control system for engine
A system for controlling condensation of water within an intake manifold of an engine is disclosed. The system may have a humidity sensor. The humidity sensor may be configured to generate a signal indicative of a humidity of intake air. The system may also have a controller communicably coupled to the humidity sensor. The controller may be configured to receive the signal indicative of the humidity of the intake air. The controller may be also configured to control an operational parameter of at least one of the engine and an engine component to maintain the humidity of the intake air within the intake manifold below a predetermined threshold.
AUTO-IGNITION INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE SUITABLE FOR HCCI OPERATION, AND METHOD FOR OPERATING AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE OF SAID TYPE
Methods and systems are provided for an auto-ignition internal combustion engine comprising an exhaust gas recirculation arrangement, an intake system, and an exhaust gas discharge system for the discharge of exhaust gases, in which the internal combustion engine is operable, at least in a first, stoichiometric operating mode, by way of a spatial ignition method (HCCI mode). For the aftertreatment of the exhaust gas in the first operating mode, a three-way catalytic converter is provided in the exhaust gas discharge system for reducing nitrogen oxides and oxidizing unburned hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide. In this way, the auto-ignition internal combustion engine has a greater window of operation in the HCCI mode than conventional auto-ignition internal combustion engines.
