AIRCRAFT AND DIRECT DRIVE ENGINE UNDER WING INSTALLATION
The present disclosure is directed to a gas turbine engine defining a radial direction, a longitudinal direction, and a circumferential direction, an upstream end and a downstream end along the longitudinal direction, and an axial centerline extended along the longitudinal direction. The gas turbine engine includes a fan assembly including a plurality of fan blades rotatably coupled to a fan rotor in which the fan blades define a maximum fan diameter and a fan pressure ratio. The gas turbine engine further includes a low pressure (LP) turbine defining a core flowpath therethrough generally along the longitudinal direction. The core flowpath defines a maximum outer flowpath diameter relative to the axial centerline. The gas turbine engine defines a fan to turbine diameter ratio of the maximum fan diameter to the maximum outer flowpath diameter. The fan to turbine diameter ratio over the fan pressure ratio is approximately 0.90 or greater.

Power assisted engine start bleed system
A system for bleeding air from a core flow path of a gas turbine engine is disclosed. In various embodiments, the system includes a bleed valve having a bleed valve inlet configured to receive a bleed air from a first access point to the core flow path and a bleed valve outlet; and an air motor having a first air motor inlet configured to receive the bleed air from the bleed valve outlet and a first air motor outlet configured to exhaust the bleed air, the air motor configured to pump the bleed air from the core flow path of the gas turbine engine.
Gas turbine engine with low-pressure compressor bypass
An aircraft engine, has: a low-pressure compressor and a high-pressure compressor located downstream of the low-pressure compressor; a gaspath valve upstream of the high-pressure compressor, the gaspath valve movable between an open configuration and a closed configuration; and a bypass flow path having in flow series a bypass inlet, a bypass valve, and a bypass outlet, the bypass inlet fluidly communicating with the gaspath upstream of at least one stage of the low-pressure compressor, the bypass valve having an open configuration in which the bypass valve allows a bypass flow and a closed configuration in which the bypass valve blocks the bypass flow, the bypass outlet fluidly communicating with the bypass inlet via the bypass valve and with the gaspath at a location in the gaspath fluidly downstream of the gaspath valve, downstream of the low-pressure compressor, and upstream of the high-pressure compressor.
System and method for reconfiguring a bleed system
A system includes a bleed system configured to direct a bleed flow from a compressor section to an exhaust section of a gas turbine engine. The bleed system includes a first bleed conduit section configured to couple to the compressor section, a second bleed conduit section configured to couple to the exhaust section, and a first rotatable joint coupling together adjacent conduits of the first and second bleed conduit sections. The second bleed conduit section has components configured to rotate between a plurality of configurations relative to the first bleed conduit section and the compressor section via the first rotatable joint. The plurality of orientations corresponds to a plurality of exhaust outlet orientations of the exhaust section, and the components of the second bleed conduit section are the same in each orientation.
System and method for reconfiguring a bleed system
A system includes a bleed system configured to direct a bleed flow from a compressor section to an exhaust section of a gas turbine engine. The bleed system includes a first bleed conduit section configured to couple to the compressor section, a second bleed conduit section configured to couple to the exhaust section, and a first rotatable joint coupling together adjacent conduits of the first and second bleed conduit sections. The second bleed conduit section has components configured to rotate between a plurality of configurations relative to the first bleed conduit section and the compressor section via the first rotatable joint. The plurality of orientations corresponds to a plurality of exhaust outlet orientations of the exhaust section, and the components of the second bleed conduit section are the same in each orientation.

An airflow arrangement for a gas turbine engine in which air can be selectively directed to and from a bypass channel of the engine and into a duct communicating air into a compressor of a gas turbine engine.
Diversion of fan air to provide cooling air for gas turbine engine
A gas turbine engine section includes a plurality of spaced rotor stages, with a static guide vane intermediate the spaced rotor stages. The static guide vane provides swirl into air passing toward a downstream one of the spaced rotor stages, and an outer housing surrounding the spaced rotor stages. A diverter diverts a portion of air radially outwardly through the outer housing, and across at least one heat exchanger. The diverted air passes back into a duct radially inwardly through the outer housing, and is exhausted toward the downstream one of the spaced rotor stages.
