Method and system for adjusting a variable geometry mechanism
Systems and methods for adjusting a variable geometry mechanism of an engine are described herein. An engine control request indicative of a desired output power for the engine is monitored. A rate of change of the engine control request is determined. The rate of change is compared to a threshold. Responsive to determining that the rate of change is beyond the threshold, a transient bias map is applied to a steady-state schedule to generate a variable geometry mechanism request indicative of a target position for the variable geometry mechanism. The variable geometry mechanism is adjusted toward the target position according to the variable geometry mechanism request.

A system includes a gas turbine system including a compressor, a combustor, a turbine, and an exhaust section. The system also includes multiple sensors coupled to components of the gas turbine system. The system further includes a controller communicatively coupled to the gas turbine system and the multiple sensors and configured to control operations of the gas turbine system, wherein the controller is configured to calculate a surrogate value for turbine exit Mach number based on the feedback from the multiple sensors and to utilize the surrogate value to derive a control action for the gas turbine system.

The present invention relates to an adjustment assembly for the adjustment of adjustable blades or vanes of a turbomachine, having an adjustment ring for coupling to the adjustable blades or vanes of a blade or vane ring and having an adjusting mechanism, which has a coupling rod for coupling to a further blade or vane ring as well as a lever and a push rod, wherein the lever is rotatably mounted at a pivot and has a load arm as well as a force arm, wherein the load arm of the lever is coupled to the push rod and its force arm is coupled to the coupling rod, on different sides of the lever, so that an offset of the coupling rod via the lever and the push rod is converted to a rotation of the adjustment ring around the ring axis thereof.

The systems may also include a transmission including a transmission input shaft connected to the power turbine output shaft and a transmission output shaft connected to a hydraulic fracturing pump. The systems may also include a fracturing unit controller configured to control one or more of the rotational speeds of the compressor turbine shaft, the power turbine output shaft, or the transmission output shaft based at least in part on target signals and fluid flow signals indicative of one or more of pressure or flow rate associated with fracturing fluid pumped into the wellhead.

A control device is a device for controlling a gas turbine. The control device is provided with: a prediction unit configured to predict a future state quantity of the gas turbine corresponding to a control input to the gas turbine in a prediction horizon, using a prediction model; an optimization unit configured to optimize the control input in at least a part of the prediction horizon, using a prediction result of the prediction unit; a storage unit for storing sensitivity information indicating sensitivity of the control input to a change speed of the state quantity for each operating condition of the gas turbine; and an update unit configured to read the sensitivity information corresponding to the operating condition assumed in the prediction horizon from the storage unit, and update one or more coefficients of a prediction equation of the state quantity used in the prediction model.

A method of controlling a gas turbine engine includes the steps of: detecting a shaft break event in a shaft connecting a compressor of the gas turbine engine to a turbine of the gas turbine engine; and in response to this detection, activating a shaft break mitigation system which introduces a fluid into a gas flow of the gas turbine engine downstream of the turbine, or increases an amount of a fluid being provided into the gas flow of the gas turbine engine downstream of the turbine, whereby the fluid reduces an effective area of a nozzle for the gas flow so as to reduce the mass flow rate of the gas flow through the turbine.
