System and method for controlling a takeoff thrust
The present disclosure provides systems and methods for controlling thrust produced at takeoff by at least one engine (114, 116) of an aircraft (100). At least one input signal comprising input data indicative of a speed of the aircraft is received (202). The speed of the aircraft is compared to a first pre-determined threshold. Responsive to determining that the speed is below the first threshold, a thrust limit for the at least one engine is determined (204) from the input data and output to the at least one engine a thrust limitation signal for causing the thrust to be limited according to the thrust limit (210).
Fuel control device, combustor, gas turbine, fuel control method, and program
A fuel control device includes a stem fuel valve opening degree determination unit, a branch line flow rate determination unit, and a correction value determination unit. The stem fuel valve opening degree determination unit is configured to determine an opening degree of a flow rate adjustment valve of a stem fuel supply line. The branch line flow rate determination unit is configured to determine an opening degree of a flow rate adjustment valve of at least one branch line. The correction value determination unit is configured to determine a correction value of the opening degree of the flow rate adjustment valve of the at least one branch line based on a value of a pressure difference between a fuel pressure upstream of a nozzle connected to the at least one branch line and a corrected fuel pressure for a fuel pressure at an outlet.

TURBINE ENGINE SHAFT SHEAR DETECTION
A method is provided involving a turbine engine. During this method, data is received indicative of twist of a shaft of the turbine engine. The data is monitored over time to identity one or more reversal events while the turbine engine is operating, where each of the reversal events corresponds to a reversal in a value sign of the data. Shaft shear is identified in the shaft based on occurrence of N number of the reversal events.

Constant speed drive to control variable APU speed and constant generator output frequency
An aircraft power system includes an auxiliary power unit (APU), a generator, and a constant speed drive (CSD). The APU drives an APU drive shaft at a first rotational speed during a first condition and a second rotational speed during a second condition. The generator is rotatably coupled to a generator shaft and produces an AC voltage having a target frequency in response to rotation of the generator shaft at a target rotational speed. The CSD unit receives the first rotational speed from the APU drive shaft and rotates the generator shaft at the target rotational speed based on the first rotational speed. The CSD further receives the second rotational speed from the APU drive shaft and rotates the generator shaft at the target rotational speed based on the second rotational speed.
AUXILIARY POWER UNIT ADAPTIVE COOLDOWN CYCLE SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system and method for adaptively controlling a cooldown cycle of an auxiliary power unit (APU) that is operating and rotating at a rotational speed includes reducing the rotational speed of the APU to a predetermined cooldown speed magnitude that ensures combustor inlet temperature has reached a predetermined temperature value, determining, based on one or more of operational parameters of the APU, when a lean blowout of the APU is either imminent or has occurred, and when a lean blowout is imminent or has occurred, varying one or more parameters associated with the shutdown/cooldown cycle.

Hybrid gas turbine engine starting control
A system includes a gas turbine engine having a low speed spool, a high speed spool, and a combustor. The system also includes a low spool motor configured to augment rotational power of the low speed spool. The system further includes a controller configured to cause fuel flow. The controller is operable to control the low spool motor to drive rotation of the low speed spool responsive to a thrust command while the controller does not command fuel flow to the combustor.
