Over-acceleration protection device for a speed regulator internal combustion engines and turbines
Over-acceleration protection mechanism for ICE or turbine speed regulator with a bushing driven by the gears. The bushing, the component, the washer, the thread, are joined together. The component screws to the thread through the thread. The weights are fitted to the component through the pins and the safety clips, including the valve which is secured by the nut. The lid is screwed to the bushing by means of the screws, while the counterweights come out of the openings of the lid. The thrust bearing and the pressure spring are mounted on the component, adjusted by the screw. The device operates through the centrifugal force which forces the counterweights to rotate in its direction of rotation and to displace the valve by compressing the spring. Then the holes of the fittings communicate with each other, allowing the oil to pass through the joints and the tube and actuate the system.
Turbocharger and method of operating turbocharger
Disclosed are a turbocharger for a combustion engine and a method of operating a turbocharger. The turbocharger may include a variably positionable flow restrictor for restricting flow in a turbocharger inlet of the turbocharger by an amount dependent on a flow restrictor position. The method may include determining an operating point variable of the combustion engine, controlling a first actuator to exert on the flow restrictor a first actuating force for varying the flow restrictor position depending on the operating point variable, determining a crank angle variable of the combustion engine, and controlling a second actuator to exert on the flow restrictor a second actuating force for varying the flow restrictor position depending on the crank angle variable.
Device for controlling the speed of an internal combustion engine
A device for controlling the speed of an internal combustion engine comprising a control lever movably associated to a support element, which may be the engine casing or a portion thereof. The control lever is moveable at least between a first position, in which the engine is at a first rotation regime, and a second position, in which the engine is at a second rotation time. A selective locking mechanism is provided that prohibits the control lever from being stably positioned at any (and all) intermediate positions between the first and second positions. In one embodiment, a biasing force generated by the device automatically forces the control lever into one of the first or second positions when the control lever is located in any of the intermediate positions and an actuation force is ceased.
