Methods and system for engine braking via electric boosting device
Methods and systems are provided for engine braking in a vehicle. In one example, a method may include deactivating fueling to at least one cylinder of an engine, increasing an air mass provided to the engine via an electric boosting device, and adjusting an exhaust valve opening timing of the at least one cylinder in response to a request for engine braking. In this way, an amount of engine braking torque may be increased with reduced wear to engine system components.
VALVE FOR CONTROLLING EXHAUST GAS OR FRESH AIR IN A DRIVE UNIT OF A MOTOR VEHICLE OR GENERATOR
A valve for controlling exhaust gas or fresh air in a drive unit has an axial support structure arranged at the free end of a driveshaft for a valve body. The axial support structure has a securing ring arranged between a cover pressed into a valve housing and a bearing. The cover seals the valve housing and has an annular bead.
REGENERATIVE BRAKING CONTROL APPARATUS FOR ELECTRICALLY-POWERED VEHICLE
A regenerative torque control unit is configured to reduce a regenerative torque and increase a rising gradient of the regenerative torque at a start of regeneration when a road surface friction coefficient acquired by a road surface friction coefficient acquisition unit is low as compared to when the road surface friction coefficient is high. Thus, it is possible to suppress occurrence of a slip on a low μ road, and it is less likely to provide a feeling of strangeness from a change between a low μ road and a high μ road.
Regulating flap
A regulating flap, especially exhaust flap for the exhaust gas stream of an internal combustion engine, includes a flap body (12), a flap diaphragm (16) carried on a pivot shaft (14) that is rotatable about a pivot axis (S) in the interior of the flap body (12). A pivot drive (20) has a drive element (30) to be coupled with the pivot shaft (14). A fixing device (40) fixes the pivot drive (20) in relation to the flap body (12). The fixing device (40) includes a bayonet fastener (38).
ADAPTIVE BRAKE MODE SELECTION
Methods, systems, and devices related to a method of controlling an autonomous vehicle, in particular, an autonomous diesel-engine truck are disclosed. In one example aspect, the method includes determining an available engine brake torque generation mechanism for reducing a current speed of the autonomous vehicle to a lower speed and selecting a brake mode corresponding to the engine brake torque availability. In case a rate of speed reduction is equal to or smaller than a threshold, the brake mode includes only an engine brake in which engine exhaust valve opening is adjusted for reducing the current speed. The threshold determined in part based on the available engine brake torque, gear position of the transmission, and the online estimated vehicle longitudinal dynamic model. In case the rate of speed reduction is greater than the threshold, the brake mode incudes a combination of the engine brake and the foundation brake.

POST INJECTION CONTROL METHOD DURING EXHAUST BRAKE OPERATION
A system includes a vehicle operation detector, an exhaust brake operation unit, a diesel oxidation catalyst, a diesel particulate filter, an injector, and a controller for controlling the operation of the injector and the exhaust brake operation unit. A post injection control method during exhaust brake operation for the system includes: determining whether a predetermined regeneration condition of the diesel particulate filter according to the output signals of the vehicle operation detector is satisfied; performing, by the controller, regeneration by controlling the operation of the injector if the regeneration condition is satisfied; determining, by the controller, whether an exhaust brake operation condition is satisfied during regeneration based on the output signals of the vehicle operation detector; and controlling, by the controller, the operation of the injector to perform post-injection with a predetermined amount of fuel when the exhaust brake operation condition is met during the regeneration.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MAINTAINING A TEMPERATURE OF AN EMISSION DEVICE
Methods and systems for maintaining a temperature of catalyst above a threshold temperature during vehicle braking and coasting is described. In one example, engine pumping work may be increased without increasing flow of cool fresh air through the engine's exhaust system to provide a desired level of engine braking. The net air flow through the engine may be reduced via activating a decompression actuator.

Construction machine
A construction machine includes: an engine driving at least one hydraulic pump configured to supply operating oil to a hydraulic actuator; an exhaust adjustment mechanism adjusting a flow rate of exhaust from the engine; and a control device controlling the exhaust adjustment mechanism. The control device determines whether or not a first downhill traveling condition and/or a second downhill traveling condition are/is satisfied. When at least one of the first downhill traveling condition and the second downhill traveling condition is satisfied, the control device controls the exhaust adjustment mechanism such that the exhaust adjustment mechanism executes exhaust brake.
