Squash ball launching machine
An automatic ball launcher includes a ball feed control system that includes a meter wheel with radially-spaced ribs or grooves to selectively block and pass balls to the flywheels of the launcher. The meter wheel rotates to selectively block and release a single ball to pass at a time. The controller of the launcher can be programmed to stop the meter wheel when a ball has been metered by monitoring the current at peak of the motor driving the meter wheel. A meter-event can be determined to have occurred when the current of the drive motor drops to a trough by a pre-set magnitude following a rise to a peak value. A remote control can be provided for the user to operate the launching machine and adjust a plurality of parameters.
Hyperthermic conditioning capsule
A self-contained, hyperthermic conditioning unit and selectively controllable environment for exercising. The unit comprises a base portion having a bed therein and a removable cover connected to the base portion to enclose a personal compartment within the unit. One or more heating elements provide heat to the personal compartment and one more pieces of physical exercise equipment are provided within the personal compartment.
Presenting Health Related Messages to Users of an Activity/Health Monitoring Platform
Selecting and presenting messages to user of an activity/health monitoring platform. The health/activity monitoring platform may receive physiological data for a user. The health/activity monitoring platform may identify a set of messages based on the physiological data. The health/activity monitoring platform may also determine a set of scores for the set of messages. Each score from the set of scores may be associated with a message from the set of messages and each score from the set of scores may be indicative of whether a respective message should be presented to the user. The health/activity monitoring platform may also identify a first message from a set of messages based on the set of scores and cause the first message to be presented via a display of a computing device of the user. The health/activity monitoring platform may also update a first set of penalties associated with the first message in response to causing the first message to be presented. The first set of penalties decreases a first likelihood that the first message will be presented to the user again
System for sensor-based objective determination
The present disclosure is directed to a system for sensor-based objective determination. In general, sensor data may be used to render objective determinations that were not previously possible due to the unavoidable subjectivity of human-based officiating systems. For example, at least one device may be configured to make objective determinations during the course of a sporting event. Data collection circuitry may receive data from sensor devices coupled to players, equipment, playing surfaces, etc. Data analysis circuitry may categorize the data and input the data into a model to determine if an infraction occurred. For example, categorization may involve determining a type of infraction that may have occurred based on the sensor data. The model may then be selected based on the type of infraction, the model being developed utilizing prior sensor data, rules for the sporting event, etc. Output circuitry may generate a notification based on the infraction determination.
ADAPTIVE ATHLETIC ACTIVITY PRESCRIPTION SYSTEMS
Systems and methods for prescribing athletic activity to be performed by a user, and for adapting the prescribed athletic activity based on completed (e.g. ongoing) athletic performances by the user. A coaching plan may be automatically created that prescribes personalized athletic activities as a user trains towards a goal date. The athletic information may be received from one or more sensor devices associated with a user, and the coaching plan may be continuously or intermittently updated based on the received sensor data.
EXERCISE MACHINE WITH PANCAKE MOTOR
An exercise machine is disclosed. The exercise machine comprises a motor, an actuator, an arm, and a cable. The cable is coupled between the motor and the actuator through the arm. The motor is configured to provide a nominal tension of resistance when an end of the cable is within a range of length from a zero point associated with the cable.
Rowing system and method
Among other things, a rowing technology includes a first rowing machine having an electromagnetic brake providing a resistance to a rower of the machine in each rowing stroke of a series of rowing strokes of the rower An electronic controller causes the resistance of the electromagnetic brake to vary over each rowing stroke in a profile that emulates resistance to which another rower in a shell on water or on a second rowing machine is subjected in each rowing stroke of a corresponding series of rowing strokes.
Systems and methods for minimally intrusive displays with heart rate monitoring and workouts
A system includes a minimally intrusive display system (MIDS) configured to be disposed on an eyewear. The MIDS includes a display system and a sensor system configured to provide for a sensor data. The MIDS further includes a processor configured to download a workout and to process the sensor data to monitor a user wearing the MIDS during the workout. The processor is further configured to display, via the display system, a workout progress based on the monitoring.
VARIABLE RESISTANCE EXERCISE DEVICE
A variable resistance exercise device is described. The exercise device comprises an elongated shaft having a first end and an opposing second end; at least one force sensor coupled to the elongated shaft; at least one attachment member coupled to the elongated shaft; a connecting member, the connecting member adapted to be received by the at least one attached member; and a control module electrically coupled to the at least one force sensor for reading and recording force output by the at least one force sensor.
Timeline and media controller for exercise machine
A program is presented to a user including a stream of content including a first auditory content and a first visual content related to the workout. A context state of the user participating in the workout is determined based on information from a sensor. A responsive content is selectively added based on the context state of the user to the stream of content in a manner that avoids conflict with the stream of content.
