CONTROL DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD FOR VEHICLE

An air amount control valve of a vehicle changes an intake air amount drawn into a cylinder. A fuel cutoff process stops fuel injection from a fuel injection valve when stopping combustion in the cylinder in a case in which a crankshaft is rotating. When execution of the fuel cutoff process is requested, a temperature-increase limiting process is executed to draw fresh air into a catalyst by increasing the intake air amount through control of the air amount control valve. In a case in which an anomaly occurs in driving of the air amount control valve when executing the temperature-increase limiting process, an amount of air drawn into the catalyst is increased by increasing an engine speed.

COMBUSTION PHASING CONTROL FOR HIGH SUBSTITUTION LEAN BURN OF GASEOUS FUELS IN DUAL FUEL ENGINE

A combustion control system for a dual fuel engine includes a combustion control unit structured to receive phasing data for combustion of a main charge of gaseous fuel ignited by way of pilot shots of a liquid fuel, output a pilot fueling command based on the phasing data, and output a valve timing command. The combustion control unit is further structured to vary a phasing of combustion of a main charge of a gaseous fuel ignited by pilot shots of a liquid fuel based on an adjustment to at least one of a pilot shot delivery parameter or a valve timing parameter such as intake valve closing timing from a first engine cycle to a second engine cycle. Control of the intake valve timing can be based on a main pilot shot timing error.

A METHOD FOR CONTROLLING AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE SYSTEM

A method for controlling an internal combustion engine system, the engine system including a combustor arranged to receive air and fuel, and combust the received air and fuel, an expander arranged to expand exhaust gases from the combustion in the combustor and to extract energy from the expanded exhaust gases, and a communication valve arranged to control a communication between the combustor and the expander, including determining during operation of the engine system whether there is a pressure difference across said communication valve.

MULTI-LEVEL FIRING ENGINE CONTROL

In various aspects, internal combustion engines, engine controllers and methods of controlling engines are described. The engine includes a camshaft and a two cylinder sets. Cylinders in the first are deactivatable and cylinders in the second set may be fired at high or low output levels. The air charge for each fired working cycle is set based on whether a high or low torque output is selected. In some implementations, the camshaft is axially shiftable between first and second positions. First cam lobes are configured to cause their associated cylinders to intake a large air charge during intake strokes that occur when the camshaft is in the first position. Second cam lobes for cylinders in the second set cause their associated cylinders to intake a smaller air charge when the camshaft is in the second position. Second cam lobes for cylinders in the first set deactivate their associated cylinders.

Method for compensating valve drift in an internal combustion engine

A method for compensating valve drift in an internal combustion engine having a variable valve train; in the method, an actual value of the current operating state of the internal combustion engine is determined in an air expenditure map and compared to a desired value of the air expenditure map, whereupon the air expenditure map is corrected.

COMPRESSION IGNITION ENGINE

Disclosed is a compression ignition engine including a first fuel supply supplying naphtha, a second fuel supply supplying diesel fuel, an EGR gas recirculation portion recirculating exhaust gas back to a combustion chamber, and a controller controlling these components. The controller determines whether an engine body is operated in a low load region or a high load region. In the low load region, the controller outputs a control signal to the first fuel supply so that at least naphtha is supplied, and outputs a control signal to the EGR gas recirculation portion such that an EGR rate becomes higher than that when the engine is operated in the high load region to make an air-fuel ratio fall within a range of 14.5 to 15.0.

Method of Controlling Vacuum Pressure for Vehicle Braking

A method of controlling vacuum pressure for vehicle braking may include checking whether a vehicle is idle or enters a deceleration state, comparing an engine vacuum pressure and a booster vacuum pressure of the vehicle with a preset reference value, checking whether a valve control system of the vehicle is operable when the engine vacuum pressure and the booster vacuum pressure are lower less than the preset reference value, controlling the valve control system when the valve control system is operable; and controlling an air conditioner (A/C) or an alternator of the vehicle when the valve control system is inoperable.

Control device, system, control method, power control device, gas turbine, and power control method

Provided is a control device of a gas turbine including a compressor, a combustor, and a turbine. The control device executes load control of allowing an operation control point for operation control of a gas turbine to vary in response to a load of the gas turbine. The operation of the gas turbine is controlled on the basis of a rated temperature adjustment line for temperature adjustment control of a flue gas temperature at a predetermined load to a rated flue gas temperature at which performance of the gas turbine becomes rated performance, a preceding setting line for setting of the flue gas temperature at the predetermined load to a preceding flue gas temperature that becomes lower in precedence to the rated flue gas temperature, and a limit temperature adjustment line for temperature adjustment control.
