Automobile and method of restarting engine of automobile

An automobile power system in a vehicle may include an intake pipe supplying external air to an engine supplying power to driving wheels, a canister connected with a fuel tank to absorb evaporation gas produced in the fuel tank, an active purging system compressing and supplying the evaporation gas absorbed in the canister to the intake pipe, a diverging line extending from the active purging system to the engine, a diverging valve mounted on the diverging line, and a starting motor rotating a crankshaft when the engine is started. In addition, the evaporation gas absorbed in the canister is supplied to the engine through the diverging line before the engine is restarted, and then the starting motor is operated.

An internal combustion engine system includes an internal combustion engine and a control device. A difference of an intake valve closing timing with respect to a compression top dead center is referred to as a first crank angle difference; a difference of an exhaust valve closing timing with respect to an exhaust top dead center is referred to as a second crank angle difference; and a difference between the first crank angle difference and the second crank angle difference is referred to as an intake/exhaust closing timing difference. The control device is configured to execute: a fuel cut processing; and a valve driving processing to control at least one of the intake valve closing timing and the exhaust valve closing timing such that the intake/exhaust closing timing difference becomes smaller during a fuel cut operation than during a non-fuel cut operation.

Method for estimating cylinder pressure

The invention relates to a method (100) for estimating a cylinder pressure (CP) in an internal combustion engine arrangement (10), the method comprising the steps of: initiating (110) an opening of a valve by an actuator during an expansion stroke; monitoring (120) the valve to determine a point in time (Tp) when the valve opens; determining (130) a differential pressure (DP) between the combustion cylinder and a position in a fluid medium exhaust passage (29, 39, 60) downstream said valve at the point in time (Tp); receiving (140) data being indicative of a pressure (EP) in the fluid medium passage at the point in time (Tp); and determining (150) the cylinder pressure (CP) at the point in time (Tp) based on the determined differential pressure (DP) and the data indicative of the pressure in said fluid medium passage.

Vehicle control device

A vehicle control device includes an engine (10), an engine control mechanism that controls an engine torque, and a PCM (50) that performs vehicle posture control for generating vehicle deceleration by controlling the engine control mechanism to reduce the engine torque upon satisfaction of a condition that a vehicle is travelling and a steering angle-related value related to a steering angle of a steering device increases. When a driver performs an accelerator operation for reducing an accelerator opening during execution of vehicle posture control, the PCM (50) suppresses reduction of a generated torque of the engine due to the accelerator operation.

Engine control method and system of hybrid electric vehicle

An engine control method of a hybrid electric vehicle is provided. The method includes detecting a state of charge (SOC) of a main battery of the hybrid electric vehicle and detecting whether a brake requires operation when the main battery is in a fully-charged state or a charging-limiting state. An engine fuel cut of the hybrid electric vehicle is executed when a request for the engine brake is generated and an engine is operated to maximize an engine load of the hybrid electric vehicle.

Method for Operating an Internal Combustion Engine of a Motor Vehicle, in Particular of a Motor Car
20210172388 · 2021-06-10 · ·

A method for operating an internal combustion engine having a cylinder, an intake valve, an air pipe, and a valve element disposed in the air pipe, includes detecting a signal for causing a fuel supply of the cylinder to switch off. The valve element is moved out of a first position into a second position triggering a lower flow cross-section while the fuel supply is still activated, where a first cam for actuating the intake valve is allocated to the intake valve. While the fuel supply is still activated, switching from the first cam to a second cam and via the second cam the intake valve is actuated such that the intake valve causes a reduced air intake. An exhaust cam shaft for actuating an exhaust valve is set in an advance direction such that a valve intersection of the intake valve and of the exhaust valve ceases.

Vehicle control device

A vehicle control device includes an engine 10 capable of switching between reduced-cylinder operation and all-cylinder operation, an engine control mechanism that controls an engine torque, and a PCM 50 that executes vehicle posture control for generating vehicle deceleration by controlling the engine control mechanism to reduce the engine torque upon satisfaction of a condition that a vehicle is travelling and a steering angle-related value related to a steering angle of a steering device increases. In addition, this PCM 50 permits the execution of the vehicle posture control when an engine rotation speed is more than or equal to a first rotation speed Ne1 and permits the execution of the reduced-cylinder operation of the engine 10 when the engine rotation speed is more than or equal to a second rotation speed Ne2 that is more than the first rotation speed Ne1.
