Control device for a VCR connecting rod for determining a defect
A control device for a VCR connecting rod which can be operated by way of an actuation circuit is provided. Such a VCR connecting rod is to enable safe operation. For this purpose, a detection device is provided for determining a defect of the actuation circuit. Furthermore, the invention relates to a respectively associated method for operating an actuation circuit of a VCR connecting rod of an internal combustion engine.
Injection control device
An injection control device includes: a fuel injection quantity command value output unit that outputs a command value for a fuel injection quantity of a fuel injection valve; and a controller that executes current control on the fuel injection valve. The controller executes current area correction by calculating an area correction amount for an energization time to cause an integrated current value of an energization current profile and the integrated current value of a current to be equal to each other. Correction control of the current area correction is changed based on a detection signal of a cooling water temperature of an internal combustion engine.
Injection control device
An injection control device includes: a fuel injection quantity command value output unit that outputs a command value for a fuel injection quantity of the fuel injection valve; a fuel injection quantity correction unit that calculates an A/F correction amount and corrects the command value of the fuel injection quantity; and a controller that executes current control on the fuel injection valve. The controller executes current area correction. The injection control device further includes an area correction abnormality determination unit that determines an area correction abnormality. The area correction abnormality determination unit changes the abnormality determination value.
System and method for controlling boost pressure
Methods and systems for an engine controller are described. In one example, the engine controller includes a reference control system and a disturbance rejection control system. The engine controller avoids use of integral feedback in the reference control system, while permitting integral feedback in the disturbance rejection control system, to improve controller response without unduly increasing engine pumping work.
Operation of a fuel injector with hydraulic stopping
Various embodiments include a method for operating a fuel injector having a hydraulic stop comprising: applying a first current profile to a solenoid drive to inject a predetermined injection quantity; ascertaining a first value of a parameter correlating to a velocity of the armature when reaching the hydraulic stop; determining whether the first value of the parameter is greater than a first threshold value; and if the first value of the parameter is greater than the first threshold value, applying a second current profile to the solenoid drive to carry out a second injection procedure. The second current profile in comparison with the first current profile exerts a lower magnetic force in the direction of the pole piece on the armature.
Control logic circuit for connecting multiple high side loads in engine control module
Methods and apparatuses for connecting multiple loads with a common return pin in engine control module application are disclosed. Only one of the multiple loads can be connected to a power source at a time. At the high side, each load is coupled to the power source through a respective pin at a connector. At the low side, the multiple loads share a common return pin at the connector that connects the loads to the ground. When a first load is connected to the power source at the high side, a first low side driver circuit is used to connect the first load to the ground at the low side. When a second load is connected to the power source at the high side, the second low side driver circuit is used to connect the second load to the ground at the low side.
Emergency operation method for actuating a fuel pump
An emergency operation method for actuating a fuel pump after a first temperature threshold for an actuation electronics system of the fuel pump has been exceeded including reducing a power consumption of an electric motor that drives a pump stage by the actuation electronics system by reducing a rotational speed until a monitored temperature value falls below a second temperature threshold below the first temperature threshold. Emergency operation method is initiated after the first temperature threshold is exceeded by a fault signal output by the actuation electronics system to an engine control unit is communicatively connected to the actuation electronics system. The fault signal, as long as it is output, is used to suppress a specification for the rotational speed of the electric motor on the part of the engine control unit and instead to specify the rotational speed by way of the actuation electronics system.
Cylinder imbalance correction system and method
Systems and methods are provided for determining and correcting air/fuel imbalance between cylinders of an internal combustion engine. A deactivation strategy is determined and implemented. An evaluation is made of whether the engine is operating with an air/fuel imbalance between cylinders. When an imbalance is identified, an alternate deactivation strategy is implemented. Based on outcomes of the alternate deactivation strategy, a source cylinder of the air/fuel imbalance is identified, and fuel flow to the source cylinder is corrected.
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE DIAGNOSING DEVICE
An aspect of the present disclosure provides a diagnosis device for an internal combustion engine. The internal combustion engine 1 includes a variable geometry type turbocharger 14, and the turbocharger includes a variable vane 28, a link mechanism configured to operate the variable vane, and an actuator 29 configured to drive the link mechanism. The diagnosis device includes a control unit 100 configured to control an opening degree of the variable vane by controlling the actuator. The control unit determines that an abnormality has occurred in the link mechanism of the turbocharger when an operating time of the internal combustion engine in a predetermined operating region exceeds a predetermined upper limit value and a differential pressure between a target boost pressure determined according to an operating state of the internal combustion engine and an actual boost pressure exceeds a predetermined upper limit value.
Circuit and method for controlling a coil current during a soft shut down
A current control circuit for an ignition system (i.e., igniter current limiter) is disclosed. The current control circuit can reduce a coil current over a soft shut down (SSD) period using an insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) that is controlled by a negative feedback loop, which controls the current limit of the IGBT according to a SSD profile. In order to prevent an unwanted current rise during the soft shut down period, the current control circuit compares a gate voltage of the IGBT to a reference signal and based on the comparison can enable the SSD profile to include a fast ramp. The fast ramp quickly lowers the current limit of the IGBT so that the coil current equals the current limit and can be controlled by the negative feedback loop.
