Method and system for purge control
Methods and systems are provided for reducing engine stall incidence during canister purging. A fuel vapor canister is purged at a higher purge ramp rate to an engine with one or more cylinders selectively deactivated. In response to an indication of potential or partial engine stall, the deactivated cylinders are reactivated and the canister purge ramp rate is lowered.
Evaporated fuel processing device
An evaporated fuel processing device includes a relationship learning unit that, during a learning operation, learns the relationship between a valve opening start amount and a pressure difference. In particular, the relationship learning unit learns this relationship when a valve opening detection unit detects a plurality of different valve opening start amounts and a pressure difference detection unit detects a plurality of different pressure differences. Then, the relationship learning unit creates a relationship map between the valve opening start amount and the pressure difference. The evaporated fuel processing device then corrects the valve opening start amount based on this relationship map.
Methods and systems for detecting compressor recirculation valve faults
Methods are provided for identifying degradation in components of a compressor recirculation valve (CRV). One method may include inferring degradation of the CRV based on adaptation of a compressor surge line outside an expected range.
METHODS AND SYSTEM FOR DIAGNOSING FUEL INJECTORS OF AN ENGINE
Various methods and systems are provided for diagnosing a condition of a fuel injector of an engine. In one example, a method for an engine includes injecting a first pulse of fuel as a first pilot injection into a first subset of cylinders of a plurality of engine cylinders, where the first pilot injection precedes a primary injection of fuel into the first subset of cylinders by a duration; correlating a first response in an engine operating parameter to the first pilot injection; and adjusting the primary injection of fuel into the first subset of cylinders based on the first response. In one example, the first pilot injection precedes the primary injection by a predefined short duration and the primary injection of fuel is adjusted within a predefined or preset upper limit and lower limit.
Method for identifying faulty components of a fuel injection system
A method for identifying faulty components of a fuel injection system is disclosed, wherein a secondary injection is performed individually by each injector during a test routine, after the secondary injection several predefined parameters of the fuel injection system are determined, and a combined assessment of the determined parameters is used to draw conclusions about whether or not components of the fuel injection system are faulty.
Method and control device
Example embodiments relate to a method and a control unit, wherein a drive system having an electric machine and having an internal combustion engine with at least a first cylinder and a crankshaft is provided. A fuel feed to at least the first cylinder of the internal combustion engine is deactivated, wherein the electric machine is coupled fixedly in terms of torque to the internal combustion engine. The electric machine is actuated such that the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine rotates at a predefined rotational speed, wherein a first cylinder segment time duration, which is assigned to the first cylinder, is detected. A corrective value is determined in a manner dependent on the first cylinder segment time duration.
Method for Checking a Variable Valve Lift Control of an Internal Combustion Engine
Various embodiments include a method for checking a variable valve lift control of an internal combustion engine comprising: during operation of the internal combustion engine, detecting a rotational speed of the internal combustion engine; and measuring an intake pressure in the intake tract of the internal combustion engine corresponding to the detected rotational speed. The method further includes: defining a reference frequency dependent on the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine; defining a comparison frequency as a non-integral multiple of the reference frequency; determining amplitudes of oscillations of the intake pressure at the reference frequency and amplitudes of oscillations of the intake pressure at the comparison frequency; and evaluating a ratio of the determined amplitudes and the respective absolute values.
Internal Combustion Engine Control Device
Transmission shocks and idling defects such as engine racing and rough idling due to aging of a throttle opening area are prevented from occurring. An internal combustion engine control apparatus for controlling an internal combustion engine that has an air flow rate sensor for measuring a rate of air represented as an actual air rate, the air flowing into a cylinder, and a throttle valve for adjusting the rate of air, includes a throttle valve controlling section for controlling a throttle opening of the throttle valve to reach a preset throttle opening set depending on a target air rate for realizing a demand torque, and a throttle opening correcting section for correcting the preset throttle opening on the basis of the target air rate upon fuel cutoff that stops a fuel from being supplied to the internal combustion engine and of an actual air rate measured by the air flow rate sensor.
