Throttle Actuator Position Verification
Disclosed is a verification system including a throttle actuation verification system. The verification system may include one or more sensors positioned at a location that will receive a force applied by an operator when a throttle lever is engaged or loaded for the intention to be actuated by the operator. A signal from the sensor is compared to a throttle position.
METHOD FOR REINFORCING ANTI-ENGINE STALL AND VEHICLE
A method for reinforcing anti-engine stall may include performing a cam timing control for measuring engine speed of an engine wherein when abnormality of a crank position detector is detected by a controller, engine speed of the engine is controlled to be higher than that at the time when the abnormality of crank position detector occurs while maintaining position for cam phase control operation of a variable timing system.
METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING AN OXYGEN PROBE
Disclosed is a method for diagnosis of an oxygen probe for a combustion engine, with the steps: When an engine's fuel injection is inactive, measuring the output electric voltage from the oxygen probe; If the measured output electrical voltage of the oxygen probe is greater than a predetermined minimum voltage threshold, measuring a pressure prevailing in an intake distributor of the engine; If the measured pressure in the intake distributor is less than a predetermined minimum pressure threshold, increasing the pressure to a value greater than the predetermined minimum pressure threshold; Determining the time period between the time when the output electrical voltage of the probe falls below a second predetermined voltage threshold and the time when the output electrical voltage of the probe falls below a third predetermined voltage threshold; and diagnosing the oxygen probe depending on elapsed the time period.
Control system for diagnosing a malfunctioning of a pressure sensor included in an aftertreatment system of an internal combustion engine
A system and method is disclosed for diagnosing a malfunctioning of a pressure sensor in an aftertreatment system of an internal combustion engine. A first value of a differential pressure across the particulate filter is measured during the identified fuel cut-off state of the internal combustion engine. An exhaust back pressure valve of the aftertreatment system is operated toward a predetermined closed position thereof, and a second value of a differential pressure across the particulate filter is measured. A difference between the second value and the first value is calculated, and a malfunctioning of the differential pressure sensor is identified when the calculated difference is higher than a predetermined threshold value thereof.
Method for testing a moisture sensor of a diesel engine
A method for testing a moisture sensor of a diesel engine includes: measuring, by an NOx sensor, an untreated NOx emissions content in exhaust gas of the diesel engine upstream of a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) catalytic converter at particular steady-state operating points in a defined window, to obtain an actual concentration value of NOx emissions; determining an oxygen concentration in intake air from an intake pipe of the diesel engine, and converting the result obtained from the determination, by a characteristic curve, into an NOx concentration to obtain a model value of NOx concentration; comparing the actual value with the model value; and identifying a faulty condition of the moisture sensor if a deviation that exceeds a set value (R) is detected between the actual and model values.
VIRTUAL SENSING SYSTEM
Methods and systems for predicting at least one temperature along a fluid flow path of a fluid flow system having a heater disposed in the fluid flow path are provided. In one example, a method includes: obtaining at least one input, wherein the at least one input includes a setpoint, a mass flow rate, an inlet temperature, or a combination thereof; calculating a temperature associated with the heater based on a predefined model and the at least one input; and setting a value of the at least one temperature along the fluid flow path to the temperature of the heater.
MOTOR VEHICLE SENSOR DIAGNOSTICS AND CLEANING METHOD
This relates to a method for diagnosing a sensor for a motor vehicle, and to the vehicle, the method including: a) a step of detecting errors in the measurements taken by the sensor; b) a first phase of commanding the cleaning of the sensor; and c) a step of cancelling the detection of measurement errors by the sensor if the difference between the first variation in the richness level determined on the basis of the parameter relating to the pumping current and the second variation determined on the basis of the variation in the voltage across the terminals of the sensor is: i) less than a predefined maximum tolerance threshold; and ii) greater than a predefined minimum tolerance threshold.
SYSTEM FOR CHECKING A CORRECT MOUNTING OF A SENSOR
The present disclosure relates to a system for checking a correct mounting of a plurality of sensors, in particular of sensors mounted in an engine system, comprising a controller configured to communicate with the plurality of sensors, wherein the controller is configured to control a switching on or off of the power supply to at least a sub-group of the sensors and to check whether a sensor whose power supply was switched on is communicating, wherein the system is configured such that at least two sensors are connected to a common power supply port and are therefore powered on or off at the same time, wherein the at least two sensors comprise at least two different types of sensors.
CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTING SYSTEM FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE-BASED MACHINES
An internal combustion engine-based system includes an internal combustion engine. The internal combustion engine-based system includes an engine interrupt connected to the engine. The engine interrupt is configured to selectively stop the operation of the engine. The internal combustion engine-based system includes a controller in communication with the engine interrupt. The internal combustion engine-based system includes a carbon monoxide detector in communication with the controller. The controller uses the engine interrupt to stop the operation of the engine when the carbon monoxide detector provides the controller with signals that are representative of a carbon monoxide level proximate the internal combustion engine that together form a trend of building carbon monoxide amounts over a set time interval.
CONTROLLER FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A controller for an internal combustion engine is provided. A control circuit performs active control for an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas. During execution of the active control, an increasing process for increasing an intake air amount is executed. During execution of the active control, a cumulated intake air amount is calculated. A sensor detects the air-fuel ratio. It is determined whether an anomaly has occurred in the sensor during execution of the active control. A maximum execution period of a sensor diagnostic process is set to a period for the cumulated intake air amount to reach a specified threshold value. The increasing process is prohibited during the execution of the sensor diagnostic process.
