METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR FUEL FILTER MONITORING
A fuel filter monitoring method includes receiving pressure signals that are indicative of a pressure drop across at least one fuel filter of a fuel supply system configured to supply fuel to at least one fuel injector of an internal combustion engine and receiving a condition signal indicative of a condition of a fuel supply system, the condition signal being generated by one or more of a geographic location sensor, an altitude sensor, and/or a fuel temperature sensor. The method includes estimating a remaining life of at least one fuel filter of the fuel supply system based on the pressure signal and the condition signal and outputting a notification indicative of the estimated remaining life.
Vehicle controller, vehicle control system, and learning device for vehicle
A vehicle controller includes processing circuitry and a storage device. The storage device stores relationship specifying data that specifies a relationship between a state of a vehicle and at least one action variable. The at least one action variable is a variable related to operation of an operating unit of an internal combustion engine. The processing circuitry is configured to execute an obtaining process that obtains a state of the vehicle, an operating process that operates the operating unit based on a value of the at least one action variable, a reward calculation process, an updating process that updates the relationship specifying data, and a determination process that determines whether the internal combustion engine has deteriorated. The determination process is executed on condition that at least one of the at least one action variable equals a predetermined value.
Abnormality diagnosis system for fuel supply system, data transmitting device, and abnormality diagnosis device
An abnormality diagnosis system is applied to a fuel supply system including a fuel pump that pumps fuel from a fuel tank and a fuel pipe in which fuel discharged from the fuel pump flows. The abnormality diagnosis system stores a minimum fuel pressure in the fuel pipe in one trip after a main switch of the fuel supply system is turned on and until the main switch is turned off and data indicating a state when the minimum fuel pressure was recorded as diagnosis data in a storage device. In the abnormality diagnosis system, an execution device determines a failure spot associated with a decrease in fuel pressure in the fuel pipe using the diagnosis data stored in the storage device and diagnoses an abnormality of the fuel supply system.
METHOD AND EVALUATION UNIT FOR DETECTING A MALFUNCTION OF A FUEL SYSTEM OF AN INTERNAL-COMBUSTION ENGINE
A device for a fuel system that makes a fuel available for an operation of an internal-combustion engine where the fuel system includes a fuel pump which conveys the fuel into a fuel accumulator and includes one or more injection nozzles which convey the fuel from the fuel accumulator to a working mixture of one or more cylinders of the internal-combustion engine includes an evaluation unit. The evaluation unit is configured to ascertain pressure data with respect to a physical pressure in the fuel accumulator during an operation of the fuel system at a sampling-time, ascertain a change in a reference pressure at the sampling-time with aid of a reference model of the fuel system, and detect a defect of the fuel system on a basis of the pressure data and on a basis of the change in the reference pressure.
INTERNAL-COMBUSTION-ENGINE CONTROLLER
The objective is to provide an internal-combustion-engine controller that can diagnose, at low cost and in real time, respective combustion states of a subsidiary-chamber-type internal combustion engine. An internal-combustion-engine controller according to the present disclosure controls an internal combustion engine having a main combustion chamber and a subsidiary combustion chamber from which a combustion gas is injected into the main combustion chamber through an orifice provided between the main combustion chamber and the subsidiary combustion chamber to ignite a fuel-air mixture in the main combustion chamber; the internal-combustion-engine controller includes an ion detector that detects an ion in the in the subsidiary combustion chamber and a diagnosis and control device that controls fuel supply to the internal combustion engine and diagnoses a combustion state in the main combustion chamber or in the subsidiary combustion chamber, based on an amount of an ion detected by the ion detector.
ENGINE CONTROLLER
An engine controller controlling an engine including an occlusion reduction catalyst in an exhaust device includes a fuel injection controller that controls a fuel injection amount of an injector, an EGR controller that controls an EGR device, a sulfur purge determiner that determines whether sulfur purging of the catalyst is to be performed, and a sulfur purge controller that executes sulfur purge control if the sulfur purging is performed. The sulfur purge control involves performing a fuel injection to achieve a rich air-fuel ratio at an inlet of the catalyst and prohibiting the exhaust-gas introduction. The sulfur purge controller executes sulfur-purge standby control when a sulfur-purge standby condition is satisfied, and resumes the sulfur purge control when the condition becomes non-satisfied after starting the sulfur-purge standby control. The sulfur-purge standby control involves performing the fuel injection to nearly achieve a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio and prohibiting the exhaust-gas introduction.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING CAUSE OF MISFIRE OF ENGINE
The present disclosure relates to a method and a system capable of determining the cause of misfire if the misfire occurs due to the mechanical failure of an injector. The present disclosure senses whether the misfire of an engine occurs, determines whether the mechanical failure occurs in an injector of a cylinder in which the misfire occurs, if the misfire of the engine is sensed, and determines that the misfire of the engine occurs due to the injector, and stores the failure content of the injector in a maintenance code, if it is determined that the mechanical failure occurs in the injector.
Methods and systems for fuel injector balancing
Methods and systems are provided for balancing a plurality of fuel injectors via a diagnostic. In one example, a method may include adjusting a fuel injection pattern to increase an occurrence of a fuel injection being preceded by a same-cylinder bank fuel injection. The method may further include skipping fuel injections resulting in the fuel injection being preceded by an opposite-cylinder bank fuel injection.
INJECTION CONTROL DEVICE
An injection control device controls fuel injection to an internal-combustion engine by driving a fuel injection valve with an electric current to open and close the valve. The injection control device includes a boost circuit boosting a battery voltage; a boost controller controlling the boosting of the boost circuit; and a charge control setter setting charge permission or charge prohibition of the boost circuit to the boost controller. The charge control setter sets the charge permission or charge prohibition of the boost circuit to the boost controller according to a magnitude of an influence of a drive current error.
Method and system for valve position monitoring
A method for controlling a fuel injector of an engine system includes applying a pull-in current to close a spill valve of the fuel injector and detecting a timing at which the spill valve closes. The method also includes adjusting at least one of an amplitude of the pull-in current, a duration of the pull-in current, or a timing of a start of an application of the pull-in current based on the detected timing of the closing of the spill valve.
