Method of controlling engine restart of vehicle
A method of controlling engine restart may include selecting, by a start controller, a first start situation and a second start situation for restarting an engine; determining a current possible start-up through the first and second start situations; prioritizing possible start-ups; and attempting to restart the engine by setting the first and second start situations as first start control and second start control, respectively, based on the priorities of the start-ups.
Method and system for monitoring a propulsive effort request
Methods and systems for monitoring and determining a propulsion request are described. In one example, the propulsion request is evaluated according to two separate plausibility checks. The plausibility checks may include comparing a monitor propulsion request against the propulsion request and comparing the monitor propulsion request against a wheel torque.
METHODS AND SYSTEM FOR DETECTING LATENT DEGRADATION OF ENGINE STARTING SYSTEM FEEDBACK
A method and system for operating a vehicle that includes feedback of operating status of an engine starting system is described. In one example, the method inhibits automatic engine pull-down in response to feedback from an engine starting system that does not meet expectations. The system and method may provide diagnostics for the engine starting system.
Vehicle with maximum vehicle speed setting unit
A vehicle includes a body holding device configured to hold the body of a seated driver; a travel control unit configured to drive the vehicle body so that it travels; and a maximum vehicle speed setting unit configured to set a set maximum vehicle speed. The travel control unit controls an output from the driving unit based on the operation amount of an accelerator device if the vehicle speed is lower than the set maximum vehicle speed, and restricts the output from the driving unit irrespective of the operation amount of the accelerator device if the vehicle speed is equal to or higher than the set maximum vehicle speed. The maximum vehicle speed setting unit sets, if it is detected that the body holding device is worn, a first vehicle speed as the set maximum vehicle speed, and sets, if it is detected that the body holding device is not worn, a second vehicle speed lower than the first vehicle speed as the set maximum vehicle speed.
Vehicle predictive control system based on big data and method thereof
A vehicle predictive control system based on big data includes: a vehicle terminal, which is installed in each of a plurality of vehicles, collecting status information related with an in-vehicle device in a corresponding vehicle to transmit the collected status information in real time, and transmitting problem occurrence information upon problem occurrence of the in-vehicle device; and a big data service provider classifying and storing the status information received from the vehicle terminal as big data, and obtaining a problem occurrence condition based on the status information to transmit information corresponding to the problem occurrence condition to the vehicle terminal when receiving the problem occurrence information of the in-vehicle device from the vehicle terminal of at least some vehicles among the plurality of vehicles.
ACTUATOR AND CORRESPONDING METHOD
An actuator (1) having an energy accumulator (6), with which an emergency drive (5) can be supplied, is configured to be tensioned by an electric motor (2). The motor (2) displaces at least one engaging element (41, 42) of the energy accumulator (6), on which a restoring force of the energy accumulator (6) acts, along an actuating travel in normal operating mode.
SUPPLEMENTAL STARTING SYSTEM
The disclosure is directed to a system and method for providing supplemental power to start one or more cranking motors. The supplemental starting system includes a starting-signal isolator configured to connect to one or more electrical starting-signal wires providing starting signal to one or more cranking motors, a resetting relay electrically connecting to the starting-signal isolator, a programmable logic controller (PLC) electrically connecting to the resetting relay, a supplemental battery relay electrically connecting to the starting-signal isolator and the PLC, a supplemental battery electrically connecting to the supplemental battery relay, and a positive output-terminal electrically connecting to the supplemental battery relay. When an output of the starting-signal isolator is higher than a threshold voltage, the resetting relay and the supplemental battery relay are configured to be in a close state, so that the supplemental starting system is configured to provide electricity to one of the one or more cranking motors.

Method for sensing damage to bearing of engine
A method for sensing damage to a bearing of an engine using a vibration signal may sense the damage to the bearing even without a sensor for directly sensing the damage to the bearing using a frequency signal input to a knocking sensor from the engine for each traveling state (acceleration traveling, cruise traveling, deceleration traveling) of a vehicle.
Engine control device
An engine control device for controlling an engine of a vehicle includes a microcomputer for executing an engine control process, and an abnormality detection unit for detecting an abnormality of the microcomputer. A reset execution unit executes a process of causing an external monitor IC to reset the microcomputer on condition that the abnormality of the microcomputer is detected and an engine rotation speed is higher than a threshold engine speed value. The microcomputer may alternatively be reset on condition that a vehicle speed is higher than a threshold vehicle speed value, or that all or a part of torque output from the engine is able to be supplemented by another vehicle drive power source.
