A system includes a reciprocating engine having a piston disposed in a cylinder, an intake valve, an exhaust valve, and an exhaust flow path downstream of the exhaust valve. The system also includes a first sensor configured to obtain a first feedback indicative of an exhaust gas parameter in the exhaust flow path. The system also includes a controller configured to identify a valve wear condition of at least one of the intake valve or the exhaust valve at least partially based on the first feedback from the first sensor.

METHOD FOR OPERATING AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, DEVICE FOR THE OPEN-LOOP AND CLOSED-LOOP CONTROL OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, INJECTION SYSTEM, AND INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

A method for operating an internal combustion engine with a motor having a number of cylinders and an injection system having a common rail with a number of injectors assigned to the cylinders and similar high pressure components, which is designed to hold fuel from the common rail for the injector, wherein the method has the steps: injecting fuel from the common rail into a cylinder by way of an injector, determining a fuel pressure for a high-pressure component, in particular the common rail, the injector and/or the individual reservoir, having at least one high-pressure sensor measuring the fuel pressure. Provision is made for a defect in the high-pressure sensor to be detected in that a check is made as to whether magnitude of the high-pressure control deviation (ep) during a predetermined time interval (t.sub.Limit1.sup.SD, t.sub.Limit2.sup.SD, t.sub.Limit3.sup.SD) exceeds a predetermined limiting value (e.sub.Limit1.sup.SD, e.sub.Limit2.sup.SD, e.sub.Limit3.sup.SD).

VALVE ASSEMBLY

The present disclosure relates to a valve assembly adapted to be located at least partially in a body of fluid for controlling fluid flow from the body of fluid to a fluid outlet port. The valve assembly has an extension in a first direction and includes a fluid inlet port having an extension at least partially in the first direction. The valve assembly further includes a valve member being movable in the first direction relative to the fluid inlet port between an open position, in which the fluid inlet port is adapted to provide a fluid communication between the body of fluid and the fluid outlet port, and a closed position, in which the valve member covers the fluid inlet port such that fluid communication between the body of fluid and the fluid outlet port via the fluid inlet port is prevented.

Carbon Monoxide Detector for Automobiles

METHOD FOR MONITORING THE ENGINES OF AN AIRCRAFT
20190128780 · 2019-05-02 ·

A monitoring method, the purpose of which is, when a loss of power is detected in an aircraft engine, to generate an alarm in the form of a single message displayed on a display screen in the cockpit, in order to indicate if the level of damage suffered by the engine is critical or not. The steps implemented are based on alarm signals transmitted by a central processing unit of the engine and also on alarm signals transmitted by a diagnostic device for the onboard systems of the aircraft, in order to take account of both the situation of the engine and also the situation of the systems surrounding the engine which can be affected by damage to an engine.

Controlling engine output at the start of vehicle movement

There are provided a start determinator for determining whether or not the vehicle has started, an elapsed timer for measuring elapsed time since start of the vehicle determined by the start determinator; and a start controller for adjusting an engine output by changing the output in multiple stages until the elapsed time measured by the elapsed timer reaches a control time determined in advance if the start of the vehicle is determined by the start determinator.

Regenerative engine device

An engine device includes an engine, an exhaust gas purification device arranged on an exhaust path of the engine, and an engine control device that controls drive of the engine. The engine control device executes a plurality of regeneration controls with which particulate matter accumulated in the exhaust gas purification device is combusted and removed. As the plurality of regeneration controls, at least non-work regeneration control, in which an exhaust gas temperature is raised in combination of post-injection and a predetermined high rotational speed, is included. The engine control device drives the engine so as to solely combust and remove the particulate matter in the non-work regeneration control and compulsorily executes isochronous control in which a rotational speed of the engine is maintained constant, irrespective of variation in load of the engine.

ABNORMALITY DETECTION DEVICE, ABNORMALITY DETECTION METHOD, AND ABNORMALITY DETECTION SYSTEM

An abnormality detection device includes: an opening degree acquisition unit, which acquires a plurality of opening degree data indicating an opening degree of a valve provided in a vehicle, the opening degree being measured during a certain period; an integration unit, which calculates an integrated value of a plurality of differences by integrating the plurality of differences between a plurality of opening degree actual measurement values indicated by the plurality of opening degree data acquired by the opening degree acquisition unit and an opening degree target value of the valve; and a determination unit, which determines that there is an abnormality in the vehicle when the integrated value integrated by the integration unit is higher than a certain value.
