Systems and methods for performing prognosis of fuel delivery systems
An engine fuel delivery system includes a fuel pump having a pumping chamber to increase fuel pressure and a closeable inlet valve, and a fuel rail to communicate pressurized fuel received from the fuel pump to at least one engine cylinder. The engine fuel delivery system also includes a controller programmed to issue a control signal to periodically close the inlet valve to generate a setpoint fuel pressure within the pumping chamber. The controller is also programmed to adjust a control signal gain value in response to deviation in an outlet fuel pressure relative to the setpoint fuel pressure. The controller is further programmed to issue a warning message in response to the control signal gain being adjusted by more than a predetermined threshold from a calibrated gain value.
VIRTUAL SENSING SYSTEM
Methods and systems for predicting at least one temperature along a fluid flow path of a fluid flow system having a heater disposed in the fluid flow path are provided. In one example, a method includes: obtaining at least one input, wherein the at least one input includes a setpoint, a mass flow rate, an inlet temperature, or a combination thereof; calculating a temperature associated with the heater based on a predefined model and the at least one input; and setting a value of the at least one temperature along the fluid flow path to the temperature of the heater.
Exhaust device of motorcycle
An exhaust device for a saddle-type vehicle having a pipe section with respect to a vehicle body and housing a catalyzer therein, and a muffler connected to a rear end of the pipe section includes an upstream oxygen sensor positioned upstream of the catalyzer and a downstream oxygen sensor positioned downstream of the catalyzer. The downstream oxygen sensor is disposed in either a position overlapping a main stand for supporting a motorcycle as viewed from below the vehicle body when the main stand is stored, or a position overlapping a stand receiver for abutting against the main stand as viewed from below the vehicle body when the main stand is stored. The pipe section includes a larger-diameter portion having an increased diameter for housing the catalyzer therein.
Motive power operation guidance apparatus
A motive power stoppage guidance apparatus includes at least one of a display device configured to be disposed in a compartment of a vehicle, and a sound output device configured to output a sound in the compartment of the vehicle; and an indication control unit configured, when the vehicle is traveling in a state where a motive power stops, or when the likelihood is high in that the vehicle is traveling in the state where the motive power stops, to execute at least one of having the display device display at least one of that the motive power is in a stopped state, and a recommended operational method, and having the sound output device output an indication sound.
Method and system for portable engine health monitoring
In one embodiment, one or more tangible, non-transitory computer-readable media stores instructions. The instructions, when executed by one or more processors, are configured to receive engine rotation timing event signals for one or more components of the engine and vibration signals indicative of movement of the one or more components, to synchronize the engine rotation timing event signals and the vibration signals to generate synchronized vibration signals, to determine whether a fault exists by comparing the synchronized vibration signals to vibration signatures, and to generate a graphical user interface (GUI) that depicts the synchronized vibration signals at angular positions of the one or more components in relation to time as the one or more components rotate during operation of the engine.
Engine pre-overheat sensor and warning system
A pre-overheat system for minimizing engine damage due to overheating includes a temperature sensor and a warning system that alerts the vehicle's operator (using light, sound, vibration, etc.) if temperatures exceed steady-state temperatures and/or reach higher pre-overheat temperatures. Steady-state temperatures are measurable when the vehicle is functioning normally (especially its cooling system) and is running in normal environmental conditions, but is lower than a redzone overheat temperature for the particular vehicle. When the redzone overheat temperature is reached, the vehicle has gotten too hot and is likely to sustain irreparable damage. The operator can reduce or prevent damage to the vehicle by taking corrective action (such as stopping and checking coolant level and clearing debris from clogged vents and screens) before the vehicle is overheated. A shutdown mechanism can shut off the vehicle before the redzone overheat temperatures are reached.
IDLE STOP CONTROL METHOD AND IDLE STOP CONTROL DEVICE
When a permission condition which is set in advance is satisfied in a state in which a vehicle is stopped by an operation of a brake pedal by the driver, an engine mounted on the vehicle is automatically stopped; and when the engine is automatically stopped, while a vehicle stop maintaining control to generate a braking force capable of maintaining a stop state of the vehicle is operated even when a brake operation is reduced, there is started notification to the occupant of the vehicle about ignition information which indicates that a state of an ignition switch of the vehicle is on when a parking brake is operated.
Particulate filter test system and method
A system for testing a particulate filter system includes a filter controller connected to the particulate filter system and a vehicular computer configured to determine at least one engine condition. The filter controller is configured to control a condition of a component of the particulate filter system and the vehicular computer is operatively connected to the filter controller to communicate therewith. The vehicular computer compares the condition of the component of the particulate filter system with the engine condition to determine whether the component of the particulate filter system is functioning properly.
INFORMATION PROVIDING METHOD FOR VEHICLE AND INFORMATION PROVIDING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE
In an information providing method and device for a vehicle, an engine of the vehicle is stopped automatically when a predetermined permission condition is satisfied in a state in which the vehicle is stopped by a brake operation executed by a driver. The driver is notified of support information for satisfying the permission condition when the permission condition is not satisfied in the state in which the vehicle is stopped by the brake operation. A vehicle stop keeping control generates a braking force capable of maintaining a vehicle stopped state even when the brake operation decreases. The notification of the support information is stopped when it is determined that the driver does not wish to automatically stop the engine in a state in which the support information is being notified and the vehicle stop keeping control is in operation.
User interface apparatus of non-uniform displacement engine control system and control method of the user interface apparatus of non-uniform displacement engine control system
A user interface apparatus for controlling a vehicle comprising a non-uniform displacement engine comprising at least two sizes of cylinders having different displacements, a motor connected to a driving shaft of the engine, and a motor controller for controlling the motor, the user interface apparatus includes an input for selecting a control mode of the non-uniform displacement engine and the motor, an interface controller communicating with the motor controller such that the motor is controlled in the selected control mode, and a display device for displaying information about the selected control mode, wherein the user interface apparatus has a control mode for controlling the motor to compensate for a difference in torque due to different displacements of the cylinders such that a sum of engine torque and motor torque in explosion stroke of each cylinder is uniform.
