A method for propulsion of a vehicle (100): The vehicle (100) includes a combustion engine (101), and a gearbox (103) that can be adjusted to a number of gear ratios for transfer of force between the combustion engine (101) and at least one driving wheel (113, 114), at least one combustion chamber with at least one inlet for the supply of combustion gas and at least one outlet for the evacuation of an exhaust gas flow that has resulted from combustion in the combustion chambers and a turbocharger unit (203) for pressurizing the combustion gas. In the method, during the change of gear from a first higher gear ratio to a second lower gear ratio, the rate of revolution of the combustion engine (101) is reduced, to control the turbocharger unit such that the pressure of the combustion gas is reduced, to increase the pressure at the outlet by constriction of the exhaust gas flow, and when the rate of revolution of the combustion engine (101) has at least partially fallen towards a second rate of revolution, to control the turbocharger unit such that the combustion gas pressure is increased. Also a system and a vehicle including the system.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ENGINE CONTROL

Methods and systems are provided for integrating a bi-fuel engine with a CVT transmission. Responsive to a driver demand, a controller may determine whether to maintain usage of a current fuel or transition to an alternate fuel based on the cost efficiency of the transition and further based on any engine limitations that may be incurred at the engine speed-load following the transition. To improve the net fuel economy benefit while addressing the engine limitation, a fuel transition may be combined with a CVT adjusted engine speed-load regime, while maintaining engine power output.

Method and devices for operating an internal combustion engine having a supercharging system

A method and device for operating an internal combustion engine having a supercharging system that has an exhaust turbocharger and an electrically driven compressor. An output of the exhaust turbocharger is adjustable by a control element. A boost pressure setpoint is determined for achieving an increased engine torque setpoint. The supercharging system is adjusted to build up the actual boost pressure in accordance with the boost pressure setpoint and a positive scavenging gradient in a cylinder of the internal combustion engine is adjusted as the overriding command variable for driving the supercharging system.

Method for carrying out a load point shift of an internal combustion engine upon activation or deactivation of an electrically heated component

A method for operating an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, whereby an electrically heated component of an exhaust aftertreatment system being supplied with electrical power via an electric machine driven by the internal combustion engine, a load point shift of the internal combustion engine being carried out by an activation or a deactivation of the component or by a temporary storage of the necessary electrical energy for operating the component in a battery.

INJECTION CONTROL DEVICE

An injection control device includes: a conversion coefficient setter setting a conversion coefficient for each injection when a fuel injection valve is driven by an electric current to inject fuel from the fuel injection valve; and an area correction unit calculating an energization time correction amount by performing area correction using the conversion coefficient for each injection regardless of whether a drive current of the fuel injection valve has reached a target peak current or not.

Method of controlling engine and transmission of hybrid vehicle

A method of controlling an engine and a transmission of a vehicle includes: determining, by a controller, whether the engine is restarted after releasing the vehicle's SSC (Start & Stop coasting) or whether the vehicle is accelerating during NCC (Neutral Coasting control), determining an RPM and gear stage of the transmission if it is determined that the engine is restarted after releasing the vehicle's SSC or the vehicle is accelerating during NCC, determining a mild hybrid starter and generator (MHSG) target RPM and an MHSG target RPM gradient of the vehicle, performing, by the controller, MHSG RPM control of the vehicle to follow the MHSG target RPM and the MHSG target RPM gradient, determining whether the MHSG RPM slips compared to the MHSG target RPM, and performing proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control to follow the MHSG target RPM if the MHSG RPM slips compared to the MHSG target RPM.
