Control device for internal combustion engine and control program therefor
A control device for an internal combustion engine includes an information acquirer, a first computing unit, and a second computing unit. The information acquirer acquires information on a state amount that changes depending on the operation state of the internal combustion engine. A region determiner determines whether the state amount falls within a set region. The first computing unit uses an in-region state amount within the set region, as an input value to compute a control amount of the internal combustion engine by a neural network. The second computing unit selects a reference state amount within the set region, based on the out-of-region state amount, uses the selected reference state amount as an input value to compute a reference control amount by the neural network, and computes the control amount corresponding to the out-of-region state amount based on the computed reference control amount.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ESTIMATING TURBO SPEED OF AN ENGINE
The speed of a turbocharger may be estimated using data from sensors that are readily available in most engine management systems. In some cases, a pressure measurement from a MAP sensor may be used, in combination with one or more computational models, to provide an efficient, lower cost estimate of turbo speed that can be used to control operation of the engine and/or the turbocharger.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND/OR AN EXHAUST AFTERTREATMENT DEVICE OF A VEHICLE, VEHICLE WITH SUCH A SYSTEM, AS WELL AS COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR CARRYING OUT SUCH A METHOD AND CONTROL UNIT WITH SUCH A COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT
A method and systems are disclosed for controlling the exhaust emissions an internal combustion engine of a vehicle. The driving state of the vehicle is determined and corresponding driving state signals are generated with the aid of driving state detectors. The emission values of the exhaust gases emitted by the internal combustion engine are determined based on the driving state signals by a computer model stored in a control unit. The determined emission values are compared with predefined emission limits by the control unit. If the determined emission values exceed the predefined emission limits, the internal combustion engine and/or the exhaust aftertreatment device are controlled by the control unit such that the determined emission values are reduced until they lie below the predefined emission limits.

CONTROL DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A control device includes an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to calculate an ignitionability index value and a combustion timing index value. The electronic control unit is configured to store relevant information defining a relationship between the ignitionability index value and the combustion timing index value, and a torque fluctuation limit value. The electronic control unit is configured to calculate a distance between a current operating point, which is specified by the ignitionability index value and the combustion timing index value, and a point on the torque fluctuation limit line. The electronic control unit is configured to retard ignition timing when the distance is larger than a threshold value, and enrich an air-fuel ratio and retard the ignition timing when the distance is equal to or smaller than the threshold value.
FUEL INJECTION CONTROL DEVICE
A fuel injection control device for an internal combustion engine, includes a fuel pressure sensor and circuitry. The fuel pressure sensor detects an actual fuel pressure of the fuel supplied to a cylinder fuel injection valve. The circuitry calculates a demanded amount of the fuel supplied to the internal combustion engine. The circuitry calculates a cylinder injection amount of fuel injected from the cylinder fuel injection valve. The circuitry corrects the cylinder injection amount to decrease in accordance with a degree of drop in the actual fuel pressure comparing to a target fuel pressure of the fuel supplied to the cylinder fuel injection valve such that fuel injection from the cylinder fuel injection valve ends by a target injection end timing. The circuitry calculates a port injection amount of the fuel injected from a port fuel injection valve based on the demanded fuel amount and the corrected cylinder injection amount.

INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
The internal combustion engine comprises an exhaust purification catalyst able to store oxygen, and a downstream side air-fuel ratio sensor arranged at a downstream side of the exhaust purification catalyst in a direction of exhaust flow. The control system performs feedback control of an amount of fuel fed to a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine so that an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas flowing into the exhaust purification catalyst becomes a target air-fuel ratio and performs learning control to correct a parameter relating to the feedback control based on an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas detected by the downstream side air-fuel ratio sensor. The target air-fuel ratio is alternately switched between a rich set air-fuel ratio and a lean set air-fuel ratio leaner. When a condition for learning acceleration, which is satisfied when it is necessary to accelerate correction of the parameter by the learning control, is satisfied, a rich degree of the rich set air-fuel ratio is increased. Therefore, there is provided an internal combustion engine able to suitably change the speed of updating the learning value.

A method for detecting a combustion process of an internal combustion engine of a hybrid vehicle includes the steps of acquiring a rotational speed signal representing a rotational speed of the crankshaft, acquiring a crankshaft angle signal representing a crankshaft angle of the crankshaft, and determining, based on the rotational speed signal and the crankshaft angle signal, whether a combustion occurs in the internal combustion engine. A control device for detecting a combustion process of an internal combustion engine of a hybrid vehicle is also provided.
