DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING DRIVING OF VEHICLE

A device for controlling driving of a vehicle includes: a detector to acquire driving information, driver information, and surrounding environment information about the vehicle, and a controller to determine whether to activate a safety driving mode based on at least one of the driving information, driver information, and surrounding environment information about the vehicle, and to determine whether to maintain the safety driving mode state based on a vehicle state after the activation of the safety driving mode. Thus, the device may support a safety driving of the vehicle by restricting a speed of the vehicle even when the driver incorrectly operates an accelerator pedal in place of a brake pedal of the vehicle.

A system for tracking oil health of an engine includes an electronic fuel injection system which includes an electronic governor control unit. The electronic governor control unit is programmed to track engine parameters, calculate oil health based on the tracked engine parameters and on engine type, and display an indication of oil health.

System and method for a compressor

Systems and methods (e.g., a method for controlling and/or operating a compressor) are provided that includes the steps of monitoring a crankcase pressure of a first compressor; analyzing the monitored crankcase pressure that includes calculating an average of the crankcase pressure over a time period and comparing the average of the crankcase pressure over the time period to a nominal crankcase average pressure; identifying a condition of the first compressor based on the analysis of the monitored crankcase pressure; and adjusting operation of a second compressor to compensate for the first compressor in response to identifying the condition of the first compressor based on the analysis of the monitored crankcase pressure. (The method may be carried out automatically or otherwise by a controller).

System and method for operating engine cylinders

Systems and methods for activating and deactivating cylinders of an engine that may activate and deactivate one cylinder independent of other cylinders are presented. In one example, an engine cylinder firing fraction and a remainder value that is based on the engine cylinder firing fraction are a basis for activating and deactivating engine cylinders. The systems and methods also provide for transitioning between different cylinder firing fractions.

Thermal air flow meter with adjustment of pulsation correction function

This signal processing unit includes: a comparison signal output unit which outputs a comparison signal on a negative side that corresponds to a negative side portion, of a second amplitude-increased signal, which is on the negative side with respect to the comparison threshold TH; an averaging processing unit which outputs an average signal obtained by averaging the comparison signal; a coefficient multiplication processing unit which outputs a coefficient-multiplied signal obtained by multiplying the average signal by an adjustment coefficient set in advance; and a signal correction processing unit which outputs, as a flow rate signal, a value obtained by correcting a first amplitude-increased signal so as to be decreased by use of the coefficient-multiplied signal, wherein the comparison threshold TH is set on the basis of an output characteristic of a sensor measured in advance with respect to at least a forward flow direction of an intake air.

Abnormality diagnosis apparatus and abnormality diagnosis method for pressure sensor of internal combustion engine

An abnormality diagnosis apparatus is an abnormality diagnosis apparatus for a pressure sensor provided in a purge passage that provides communication between an intake passage of an internal combustion engine and a canister, the pressure sensor being closer to the intake passage than a purge valve and a check valve are, the purge valve opening and closing the purge passage, the abnormality diagnosis apparatus for the pressure sensor including: a first determination unit that determines whether the purge valve is being kept in a closing state and a fuel cut in which fuel injection in the internal combustion engine is stopped is being executed; and a second determination unit that determines whether the pressure sensor is abnormal, based on a detection value of the pressure sensor, when the positive determination is made by the first determination unit.

Methods and system for controlling engine starting

Systems and methods for operating a hybrid powertrain of a vehicle that includes an engine and a motor/generator are described. The systems and methods may judge whether or not to generate an engine start request when an engine is stopped in response to present vehicle operating conditions and predicted vehicle operating conditions.
