Methods, systems, and products for detection of environmental conditions
Methods, systems, and products monitor environmental conditions in an enclosed environment, such as a garage or storage shed. If a dangerous environmental condition is determined, such as elevated carbon monoxide, an entry door may be opened. If further remedial measures are required, ignition of an internal combustion engine may be prohibited.
Method and system for exhaust gas recirculation and heat recovery
Methods and systems are provided for a single heat exchanger coupled to a main exhaust passage upstream of one or more exhaust catalysts or in between two exhaust catalysts for exhaust heat recovery and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooling. In one example, in the pre-catalyst configuration of the heat exchanger, during exhaust heat recovery, a portion of exhaust may be routed via the heat exchanger while the remaining portion of exhaust may be routed directly to the exhaust catalysts, and fueling may be adjusted on a per-cylinder basis to maintain a target exhaust air-fuel-ratio at the exhaust catalysts.

Method and Device for Acquiring the Oil Temperature in an Internal Combustion Engine
Various embodiments include a method for determining the temperature of an engine oil in an internal combustion engine comprising: acquiring a value of a parameter characterizing a current operating point of the internal combustion engine; and calculating the temperature of the engine oil using an oil temperature model. The oil temperature model depends at least in part on dilution of the engine oil caused by different components in the engine oil and accounts for modified heating behavior of the engine oil based on the dilution.

System and method for modeling and estimating engine cranking torque disturbances during starts and stops
A method of controlling a hybrid vehicle includes commanding a first electric machine to provide a compensating torque. The compensating torque is based on a calculated cylinder pressure. The calculated cylinder pressure is calculated using a dynamic model. The model has an initializing input of engine crank position and real-time inputs of measured speed of the first electric machine and measured speed of the second electric machine.

Methods and systems for power take off device torque delivery
Methods and systems are provided for controlling a vehicle engine to deliver desired torque to a power take off device coupled to the engine. In one example, the method may include, learning a filtered PTO torque demand during vehicle acceleration, and steady state operation, and during transition in engine states using the learned PTO torque demand to adjust engine speed in order to deliver a desired engine torque output for optimal operation of the PTO device.

METHOD FOR PROCESSING OF MOTOR POSITION DATA BY A MULTI-CORE COMPUTER
Disclosed is a method for processing position data of an automotive vehicle motor, implemented by a multi-core electronic computer including: a software module for the production of data of angular position of the motor, and at least one software module for driving the motor as a function of the angular position data. The method includes a step of deactivation of each drive module by the module for the production of angular position data, followed by a step of activation of each drive module by the production module. In the course of the deactivation step, the production module dispatches to each drive module a deactivation command, and then a request for confirmation that each drive module is deactivated, and the step of activation of the drive modules is implemented only when the deactivation of all the drive modules has been confirmed to the production module.
