Surge determination device, surge determination method, and program
This surge determination device is provided with a surge determination unit for determining the presence or absence of a surge of a compressor that outputs compressed air to an engine on the basis of a rotation speed of the engine and an air flow rate.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR CONTROLLING ENGINE IDLE-STOP
Methods and systems are provided for controlling an engine idle-stop based on upcoming traffic and road conditions. In one example, a method may include receiving data including traffic information and road characteristics immediately ahead of a vehicle from one or more remote sources, and adjusting one or more vehicle thresholds based on the received data. A duration of a prospective engine idle-stop may be estimated based on the received data and an engine idle-stop may be initiated based on the duration of the prospective engine idle-stop and the adjusted one or more vehicle threshold.

Method and system for fuel system control
Methods and systems are provided for enforcing a minimum fuel lift pump commanded voltage that is determined as a function of commanded lift pump pressure and fuel flow rate. The minimum fuel lift pump voltage is applied when the commanded voltage is lower than the minimum voltage. The approach reduces engine stalls induced by ingestion of fuel vapors at an injection pump coupled downstream of the lift pump.

Control device for internal combustion engine
Provided is a control device for an internal combustion engine, the control device enabling the suppression of variations in the amount of fuel injected by injection while the boost voltage is charging, without offsetting the injection timing. A boost circuit (211) boosts a first voltage supplied from a battery (201), and supplies a boosted second voltage to a fuel injection device (214). Switches (212, 213) switch the second voltage supplied to the fuel injection device from the booster circuit on and off. Computation devices (204, 207) control the switches. Each computation device comprises: an estimation unit that, before the initial fuel injection in a combustion cycle, estimates the second voltage for all of the fuel injection times in the combustion cycle; and a correction unit that corrects the amount of fuel injected for each fuel injection time depending on the estimated second voltage.
Fuel injection control device and fuel injection control method for internal combustion engine
During rapid warm-up operation, a CPU executes full lift injection processing, in which a nozzle needle reaches a maximum lift amount, in an intake stroke of each cylinder of a four-cylinder internal combustion engine, and then executes partial lift injection processing, in which the nozzle needle does not reach the maximum lift amount, in a compression stroke. On the other hand, during learning of injection characteristics of partial lift injection processing, the CPU executes full lift injection processing after executing partial lift injection processing, both of which are executed within a predetermined period in an intake stroke. The CPU learns the injection characteristics based on an inflection point in the temporal change of the induced electromotive force in a coil following the end of the partial lift injection processing.
Calibration method for high gamma combo tuner
An RF electronic impedance tuner uses multiple PIN diodes, Varactors or MOSFETs, mounted in a low loss slab-line, between the bottom surface of the center conductor and ground, are DC controlled individually and spaced appropriately along the slab-line in order to generate maximum Gamma and bandwidth. The electronic tuner is combined with a slide screw tuner, using the same slab-line in various configurations, before, after or sharing the same slab-line section, mounted on top of each-other. Calibration on a VNA allows high Gamma and harmonic tuning.
Method and system for diagnosing operation of an engine compression ratio changing mechanism
Methods and systems for diagnosing operation of a compression ratio adjusting mechanism are described. In one example, an output of a pressure sensor is sampled and an assessment of the engine's present compression ratio is made after adjusting sampling of the output. Engine operation may be adjusted responsive to whether or not degradation of the compression ratio adjusting mechanism is indicated.
MODEL REFERENCE ADAPTIVE CONTROLLER
The disclosure describes a system that includes a closed-loop reference module, an adaptation module, and a control module. The closed-loop reference module is configured to execute a reference model that represents operation of an engine and determine a reference control signal and a reference state trajectory signal. The adaptation module is configured to determine an adaptation signal based on a difference between the reference state trajectory signal and an engine state trajectory signal representative of actual operation of the engine. The control module is configured to receive the reference control signal from the closed-loop reference module, the adaptation signal from the adaptation module, and the engine state trajectory signal. The control module is further configured to determine a demand signal based on the engine state trajectory signal, the adaptation signal, and the reference control signal, and output the demand signal to control operation of at least one engine component.
