Humidity measurement device

According to the conventional knowledge, a thermal humidity measurement device has problems in which the direction of air flow is limited to one direction is too hard to handle in securing the humidity responsiveness because there are limitations on the mounting direction of the thermal humidity measurement device and the state of air flow. An introduction guide protrudes from an air introduction surface to the outside of a measurement chamber, is parallel to a humidity introduction port surface, and has a portion not in contact with an inlet surface of a humidity introduction tube as seen from any direction to guide the flow of air to the humidity introduction tube from any direction of 360°.

In addition, values are determined for at least one parameter which represents at least one peripheral condition of the fuel use in the first vehicle during the first fuel supply process. A mathematical relationship is determined between one or more supplied values of the at least one fuel use characteristic variable and the corresponding values of the at least one parameter. A profile data record including a data record and/or learning data is supplied on the basis of at least one determined mathematical relationship. At least one further fuel parameter of a fuel which is used by the first vehicle and/or by a second vehicle during a second fuel use process is adapted as a function of the supplied profile data record.

A method for operating a combustion engine performing an injection quantity correction is described. A total injection quantity per pulse of an injector is divided into a plurality of smaller equal quantity pulses. The smaller quantity pulses are implemented in ballistic injector mode. On the basis of this step, a corresponding offset correction is carried out. After the offset correction has been applied, a further correction is carried out in linear injector mode. An additional alternative for performing an injection quantity correction without additional sensor hardware is thereby provided.

An internal combustion engine comprises a filter and is configured to enable attachment of a secondary air feed system feeding air into exhaust gas flowing into the filter. A control device of the engine is configured, in the PM removal control for removing particulate matter deposited on the filter, to perform temperature raising processing for controlling the engine so that the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas discharged from the engine body 1 is a rich air-fuel ratio and for feeding air from the secondary air feed system, and to perform regeneration processing for controlling the engine so that the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas discharged from the engine body is a stoichiometric air-fuel ratio and for feeding air from the secondary air feed system so that the air-fuel ratio of the exhaust gas flowing into the filter is a lean air-fuel ratio.

System and method for processing cylinder pressures

Methods and systems for operating an engine responsive to filtered cylinder pressure data are disclosed. In one example, fuel injection timing may be advanced in response to filtered cylinder pressure data that is indicative of onset of combustion in a cylinder being delayed from an expected timing. The filtered cylinder pressure data may be generated via a digital filter.

An energization instruction switch switches energization instruction signals to instruct energization of fuel injection valves. A first cylinder designation switch designates one of the energization instruction signals to designate a valve closing detection cylinder. A valve closing detection unit monitors downstream voltage of the fuel injection valve to detect occurrence of an inflection point in change of the downstream voltage to detect a valve closing. A second cylinder designation switch designates one of the downstream voltages and designates the valve closing detection cylinder. A valve closing time measuring unit measures a valve closing time, which is from a switching timing of the energization instruction signal from ON to OFF to a valve closing detection timing, for injection of the valve closing detection cylinder. A valve closing time learning unit learns the valve closing time measured by the valve closing time measuring unit.

METHOD FOR THE MODEL-BASED CONTROL AND REGULATION OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

A method for the model-based control and regulation of an internal combustion engine. The method includes calculating, as a function of a set torque, injection system set values for controlling the injection system actuators via a combustion model and calculating gas path set values for controlling the gas path actuators via a gas path model. The combustion model is adapted during operation of the internal combustion engine into the form of a complete data-based model. A measure of quality is minimized by an optimizer by changing the injection system set values and gas path set values within a prediction horizon, and the injection system set values and gas path set values are set by the optimizer, which is critical for adjusting the operating point of the internal combustion engine by using the minimized measure of quality.

SYSTEM AND METHOD OF MANAGING THE TEMPERATURE OF FUEL INJECTED INTO INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES

A system and a method of controlling the temperature of fuel injected into combustion engines, which provides a reduced amount of fuel injected into engines propelled with either pure gasoline or ethanol or any bi-fuel mixture by precisely controlling the amount of heat supplied to the fuel.
