GYMNASTIC TRAINING APPARATUS AND METHODS
Athletic, and more particularly gymnastic, training apparatus and methods are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a pommel portion of a pommel horse training apparatus, the pommel portion including a plurality of elongate pommel segments. A first pommel segment from the plurality of elongate pommel segments is coupled to a second pommel segment from the plurality of elongate pommel segments. A centerline of the first pommel segment is non-parallel to a centerline of the second pommel segment. The centerline of the first pommel segment is coplanar with the centerline of the second pommel segment.
Wearable device systems and methods for guiding physical movements
A system includes wearable devices positioned on a subject in different locations. Each wearable device includes motion sensors that measure the subject's movement in three dimensions. The motion sensors generate raw sensory data as the subject performs a physical movement. A data filter is selected based on a condition of the subject and a designated movement corresponding to the physical movement, and used to convert the raw sensory data into formatted data. A level of compliance of the physical movement with a movement model for the designated movement is determined by applying comparative modeling techniques to the formatted data and the movement model. Real-time feedback is delivered dynamically to the subject by the wearable devices during the performance of the physical movement based on the level of compliance. The movement model can be generated, and the comparative modeling techniques can be selected, based on the condition of the subject.
PACING LIGHTING SYSTEM FOR STRENGTH TRAINING APPARATUS
A strength training apparatus includes a rack configured to hold a bar between exercises performed using the bar, at least one light source coupled to the rack, and a controller communicable with the light sources. The controller is programmed to determine a desired range of motion for a current exercise and control the at least one light source to display an illumination pattern based on the desired range of motion.
Strength calibration
A resistance force is controlled such that a user's effort against the resistance force results in a first isokinetic seed movement. The resistance force required to effect the first isokinetic seed movement is associated with a force-velocity profile. It is determined whether a sufficient number of isokinetic seed movements have been performed by the user. In response to a determination that the sufficient number of isokinetic seed movements have been performed by the user, a strength determination of the user is made based on the isokinetic seed movements performed by the user.
Disparate sensor event correlation system
A sensor event detection system including a motion capture element and another sensor. The sensor captures values associated with an orientation, position, velocity and acceleration and recognizes an event within the data to determine event data. Uses other values associated with a temperature, humidity, wind and elevation, i.e., environmental and physiological sensors and correlates the data or event data with the other values to determine a type of event or true event or a false positive event, or a type of equipment the motion capture element is coupled with, or a type of activity indicated by the data or event data and transmits the data or event data associated with the event.
Systems and methods for estimating and predicting emotional states and affects and providing real time feedback
Systems and methods for estimating emotional states, moods, affects of an individual and providing feedback to the individual or others are disclosed. Systems and methods that provide real time detection and monitoring of physical aspects of an individual and/or aspects of the individual's activity and means of estimating that person's emotional state or affect and change to those are also disclosed. Real time feedback to the individual about the person's emotional change, change or potential change is provided to the user, helping the user cope, adjust or appropriately act on their emotions.
Augmented therapy
Systems and methods for facilitating the completion of physical therapy through the application of augmented-reality training exercises are provided. In certain exemplary embodiments, a digital avatar is displayed to a user demonstrating various physical therapy movements. Video data may be received from one or more cameras to identify and capture movement from the user. Movement of the user may be analyzed to determine if the user has performed the movements as demonstrated by the digital avatar.
ERGONOMIC HANDHELD WEIGHT UNIT AND METHOD OF USE
An exercise weight unit adapted to be handheld and palm-centered comprising a body and a feature at an end of the body configured to create a slight inward torque when the weight unit is held in a hand of a user during physical sports training, wherein the feature is one of a hook shape, a mushroom shape and a fin shape.
Number of steps measuring device, method, and program
A first calculation unit synthesizes respective measured values of acceleration of an X-axis, a Y-axis and a Z-axis measured by a measurement unit and calculates the synthesized acceleration. A second calculation unit calculates acceleration in a body axis direction (vertical direction) of a wearer wearing the measurement unit from the respective measured values of acceleration of the X-axis, the Y-axis and the Z-axis. The third calculation unit calculates amplitude of a time variation of acceleration in the body axis direction calculated by the second calculation unit. A reference setting unit sets a reference time for determining one step based on the amplitude calculated by the third calculation unit. A walking detection unit detects one-step walking motion of the wearer, a one-step time of which falls within a range of the reference time based on the synthesized acceleration.
Data collecting head guard systems and methods thereof
A head guard is provided. The head guard includes one or more sensors as part of an sensory input and communications system. The head guard wirelessly communicates data to remote computing devices for intelligent data collection.
