20180133537 · 2018-05-17 ·

A kettlebell includes sensors to collect movement data during use, a controller to track movement data, a kinetic charging circuit to charge a kettlebell battery, a network interface over which to transmit movement data to a networked device, and a user interface to display a representation of electricity generated by the kettlebell movement. The sensors include an accelerometer or a gyroscope. The controller may execute instructions to store the movement data, sample or aggregate the data, transmit the sampled or aggregated data to the networked device, determine the amount of electricity generated by kettlebell movement, or calculate a measure of exercise intensity based on the generated electricity. The networked device may generate and provide data representing the effectiveness of a user's fitness program to a cloud-based server or exchange the data with another networked device. The server may provide the data to a fitness professional or another user.

WALKING TRAINING SYSTEM
20180133091 · 2018-05-17 · ·

The walking training system 1 includes an upper acceleration sensor 52 and a lower acceleration sensor 54 installed at locations on the walking assistance apparatus 2 spaced apart from each other in a leg length direction. The control apparatus 100 estimates an acceleration at the center of gravity of the walking assistance apparatus 2 from accelerations acquired by the upper acceleration sensor 52 and the lower acceleration sensor 54. The control apparatus 100 then calculates an inertia force acting on the walking assistance apparatus 2 from the product of the acceleration at the center of gravity and the weight of the walking assistance apparatus 2. The control apparatus 100 controls the forward pulling unit 35 and the backward pulling unit 37 to reduce the inertia force acting on the walking assistance apparatus 2.

EXERCISE MANGEMENT SYSTEM WITH BODY SENSOR
20180130373 · 2018-05-10 ·

This invention pertains to a system for providing exercise programs to users based on regimens prepared by health care practitioners. Each regimen is automatically converted into a set of exercise sessions, each session consisting of one or more exercises. The exercise sessions are provided to users as audio/video programs. Preferably, an avatar in the video portion of each program performs the respective exercises and together with the audio portion provides prompts, encourages and instructs the user in following and performing the exercises. In addition, a plurality of sensors may be deployed for concurrently receiving and processing motion data for display and analysis relative to exercise performance.

SYSTEM AND METHOD OF FITNESS TRAINING IN VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT

A system for fitness training in a virtual environment. The system includes a cardiovascular training equipment, a head mounted device for presenting a video content associated with the virtual environment, and at least one computing device communicably coupled to the cardiovascular training equipment and the head mounted device. The at least one computing device is operable to provide the video content to the head mounted device, and modify at least one setting of the cardiovascular training equipment based on a metadata associated with the video content.

SMART PEDAL FOR CYCLE STYLE EXERCISE DEVICES
20180126220 · 2018-05-10 ·

A pedal system for tracking use of a cycle style exercise device. The pedal system includes a pedal with a shaft for coupling to the pedal crank of the exercise device and a housing that is rotatable about the shaft. An accelerometer positioned in the housing is configured to provide data about the movement of the pedal to a microcontroller. A wireless communication chip positioned in the housing is used to transmit the data about the movement of the pedal to a remote device via the wireless communication chip. The remote device is programmed to receive, display and track the data about the movement of the pedal.

AUGMENTED LEARNING SYSTEM FOR TAI-CHI CHUAN WITH HEAD-MOUNTED DISPLAY
20180126241 · 2018-05-10 · ·

Disclosed is an augmented learning system for tai-chi chuan, including a head-mounted display put on a head of a learner, and a plurality of action sensors worn on the head or a body of the learner. The action of the learner is sensed by the action sensors, which generate and wireless transfer corresponding sensing signals to the head-mounted display. Based on the sensing signals, the head-mounted display constructs and shows images of the learner as well as a virtual coach demonstrating tai-chi chuan in front of the learner. Also, virtual assistants at different positions demonstrate the same tai-chi chuan such that the learner clearly watches each detailed move of tai-chi chuan at various views. Therefore, the present invention helps the learner effectively self-examining and self-correcting every move by means of video and audio so as to overcome learning obstacles and speed up learning progress for tai-chi chuan.
