Determining work performed on a treadmill
09943722 · 2018-04-17 · ·

A treadmill system includes a deck, an endless tread belt covering at least a portion of the deck, and a motion transducer positioned to detect movement of the tread belt. The treadmill system also includes a processor and memory where the memory includes instructions executable by the processor to receive an output of the motion transducer, determine an exercise type performed on the tread belt, and calculate an amount of work performed by a user on the tread belt based on the output of the motion transducer and the determined type of exercise.

Exercise balance trainer

Apparatus and associated methods relate to a balance exercise training equipment having a planar platform with a ballast assembly that lowers its center of mass below a ball-and-socket joint. In an illustrative example, the planar platform may couple to a support assembly through the ball and socket joint to pivot and rotate relative to the support assembly. The ballast assembly may include laterally extending members to releasably receive and retain ballast plates. In response to the laterally extending members receiving and retaining ballast plates, the center of mass may descend below a pivot point of the ball-and-socket joint. In a mount or dismount mode, a locking mechanism may lock the planar platform in a predetermined position to facilitate mounting and dismounting onto the planar platform. Advantageously, a user may adjust the center of mass in accordance with a user's skill level or exercise preference.

Systems and Methods for Storing and Analyzing Golf Data, Including Community and Individual Golf Data Collection and Storage at a Central Hub
20180099183 · 2018-04-12 ·

Systems and methods are described for providing coaching, training, or equipment specification information to individual golfers based on data generated during their individual golf swings. Additionally, data hubs are described that provide information and services to individuals based on data collected for a community of multiple golfers. Such community data hub systems and methods may provide one or more of the following: (a) storage of scoring data, swing data, ball flight data, and/or equipment data for multiple golfers; (b) at least some level of individual access to the stored data for the community; and/or (c) electronic interaction between golfers within the community.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TRACKING DRIBBLING AND PASSING PERFORMANCE IN SPORTING ENVIRONMENTS
20180099201 · 2018-04-12 ·

Systems and methods are provided for tracking a dribbling and/or passing motion associated with a person engaged in either a training session for a sporting event or the live play of the sporting event. In sporting events, a dribbling motion can be associated with a repetitive movement or a short trajectory sequence between changes of direction of a ball, puck or other object used in the sporting event. A passing motion can be associated with the movement of the ball, puck or other object between two people during the sporting event. The system can use one or more sensors to capture information about a person dribbling and/or passing an object and at least one processor to analyze the information to determine and evaluate one or more characteristics associated with the dribbling, the passing motion, or a transition from dribbling to passing.

EXERCISE APPARATUS WITH SENSORS AND METHODS THEREOF
20180099184 · 2018-04-12 ·

An exercise apparatus includes a resistance assembly, a flexible member, and a sensor network. The sensor network includes sensors that generate signals responsive to the amount of resistance selected by a user of the exercise apparatus and the user's interaction with the flexible member.

EXERCISE DEVICE

An apparatus for exercising uses one or more spring member that provide a constant force. The apparatus may include one or more grips, tethers, and spring elements that are either connected or secured to one another. The apparatus may also use a free floating object.

NON MOTORIZED OMNI DIRECTIONAL WALKING SYSTEM DEVICE
20180101224 · 2018-04-12 ·

A walking system structure, constituted by a walking dish formed in any one of a circular shape, a semi-circular shape, and a polygonal shape; multiple auxiliary balls constituted by multiple rolling balls on the surface of the walking dish and formed below the rotation ball so that the rolling ball smoothly rotates in all directions of 360 degrees; a ball fixing device fixing the auxiliary ball and the rolling ball not to be separated from predetermined positions while allowing the auxiliary ball and the rolling ball to rotate in all directions of 360 degrees; and a ball fixing table formed below the ball fixing device for joining the multiple ball fixing devices on the inclined surface at a predetermined interval to allow a user to walk in all direction of 360 degrees according to a virtual reality or walking motion image based on a stop surface.

System and Method for a Motion Sensing Device
20240396373 · 2024-11-28 ·

A device including a visual or audible signaling means and a motion sensor, and logic for activating or controlling the signaling means in response to a sensed motion according to an embedded logic is disclosed. The device may be used as a toy for amusement, and may be shaped like a play ball or as a handheld unit. The device may be powered from a battery, which may be charged from an AC power directly or contactless by using induction or by converting electrical energy from harvested kinetic energy. The embedded logic may activate or control the signaling means, predictably or randomly, in response to the sensed acceleration magnitude or direction, such as sensing the crossing a preset threshold or sensing the peak value. The visual means may be a numeric display for displaying a value associated with the count of the number of times the threshold has been exceeded or the peak magnitude of the acceleration sensed.

PORTABLE NETWORKED EXERCISE BALL-AND-STICK APPARATUS
20240390733 · 2024-11-28 ·

The present invention is a connected portable exercise apparatus that allows for weight resistance or weight-bearing exercise. A portable exercise ball-and-stick apparatus, which includes a base having a partial and concave spherical region for accepting therein a ball and with a rod-portion extending from the ball, which may be either linearly- or non-linearly shaped, and preferably with a handle at the end of the rod distal from the ball for gripping the rod with the handle preferably being rotatable relative to the rod. The handle has a sensor in it that allows for the determination of the motion of the rod. The motion of the rod is compared to desired movements in a given exercise, and feedback is given to the user when they go outside of the desired movements for an exercise.

A classification model is generated based on historical exercise information. User exercise information is classified into an exercise category using the classification model. Recommendations based on the exercise category is identified. A customized exercise recommendation is determined from the identified recommendations based on a comparison of the user exercise information and expected progress data. This customized recommendation is provided to a user device for consumption.
