Ball with trajectory control for reconnaissance or recreation
A ball with a housing suitable for being thrown or projected into an airborne trajectory, the ball capable of deforming a portion of the exterior surface of the housing for the purpose of controlling the direction of its airborne trajectory. Also disclosed is a ball with a housing suitable for being thrown or projected into an airborne trajectory with means for shifting its center of mass away from the center of the housing for the purpose of controlling the direction of its airborne trajectory. A golf ball with one or more deformable dimples is also disclosed.
Apparatus and method for detecting sports biomechanical information
An apparatus for detecting sports biomechanical information includes a rotating device, pedaled and rotated by a stepping portion, and a transmission mechanism being dragged, such that the stepping portion forms a moving track corresponding to the motion of the rotating device. Plural equidistant first sensing portions are disposed around the axis of the rotating device and sensed by a first sensor, and a second sensing portion is disposed on the rotating device and sensed by a second sensor, and the stepping portion includes a pressure sensor for sensing a stepping pressure exerted on the stepping portion. The aforementioned sensors generate first, second and third signals respectively, and the computing module computes the current position of the stepping portion and works together with reverse sport biomechanics of a human body to compute limbs loading information of human body movements.
MUSIC SYNCHRONIZATION ARRANGEMENT
The invention generally pertains to a hand-held computing device. More particularly, the invention pertains to a computing device that is capable of controlling the speed of the music so as to affect the mood and behavior of the user during an activity such as exercise. By way of example, the speed of the music can be controlled to match the pace of the activity (synching the speed of the music to the activity of the user) or alternatively it can be controlled to drive the pace of the activity (increasing or decreasing the speed of the music to encourage a greater or lower pace). One aspect of the invention relates to adjusting the tempo (or some other attribute) of the music being outputted from the computing device. By way of example, a songs tempo may be increased or decreased before or during playing.
SYSTEM FOR MEASURING AND CORRECTING THE FINISH TIME OF AN ATHLETE IN A RACE
The measuring system makes it possible to correct a finish time for an athlete in a running race. The system comprises a personalised transponder module placed on an upper part of the athlete's body and a base station. The transponder module comprises a signal receiver unit, a data, measurement or command processing unit, and a data and/or measurement and/or command signal transmission unit, and a motion sensor for providing measurement signals to the processing unit. The motion sensor may be a gyroscope connected to the processing unit in the transponder unit and configured to determine an angle of inclination of the athlete's body with respect to a vertical or horizontal direction upon crossing the finish line for correction of the race finish time.
TECHNOLOGIES FOR MANAGING USER-SPECIFIC WORKOUTS
Technologies for generating user-specific workout plans and tracking a user's progress are disclosed. The user-specific workout plan may be based on a user's goal and the particular workout facility to be used by the user. During performance of the user-specific workout by the user, the user is provided with workout data regarding the user's performance Such workout data may be based on sensor data generated by sensors of the exercise machine used by the user and/or other sensors carried or worn by the user.
Impact and Sound Analysis for Golf Equipment
Golf performance and equipment characteristics may be determined by analyzing the impact between a golf ball and an impacting surface. In some examples, the impacting surface may be a golf club face. The impact between the golf ball and the surface may be measured based on sound and/or motion sensors (e.g., gyroscopes, accelerometers, etc.). Based on motion and/or sound data, various equipment-related information including golf ball compression, club head speed and impact location may be derived. Such information and/or other types of data may be conveyed to a user to help improve performance, aid in selecting golf equipment and/or to insure quality of golfing products.
EXERCISE APPARATUS
An exercise apparatus comprising a foot support movable by the user on the frame back and forth through any one of a plurality of complete, reproducible and different arc segments of a master arcuate path, the foot support being interconnected to an arc segment selection device that is manually actuatable to enable the user to manually select any one of the plurality of different arc segments, the foot support being interconnected to an arm having a handle manually graspable by the user to reduce or increase power or energy required by the user to move the foot support.
Elastic element exoskeleton and method of using same
Running in a mammal, such as a human, is augmented by adaptively modulating anticipation of maximum leg extension of a mammal when running, and actuating an exoskeletal clutch linked in series to at least one elastic element, wherein the clutch and elastic element form an exoskeleton and are attached in parallel to at least one muscle-tendon unit of a leg of the mammal and span at least one joint of the mammal fitted with the exoskeleton. The exoskeletal clutch is actuated in advance of a predicted maximum extension of the exoskeletal clutch to thereby cause the exoskeletal clutch to lock essentially simultaneously with ground strike by the leg of the mammal. The elastic element is thereby engaged during stance phase of the gait of the mammal while running, and subsequently is disengaged prior to or during the swing phase of the gait of the mammal, thereby augmenting running of the mammal.
Exercise Device for the Shoulder
The invention provides an exercise device for a rotator cuff of a shoulder of a user comprising a container housing, wherein the container housing comprises a first container shell, wherein the first container shell comprises a first container shell exterior surface and a first container shell interior surface surrounding a first container shell void, wherein the first container shell interior surface forms a substantially spherical surface; a second container shell, wherein the second container shell comprises a second container shell exterior surface and a second container shell interior surface, wherein the second container shell interior surface surrounds the first container shell exterior surface whereby the first container shell is nested inside the second container shell; and a spherical ball positioned within the first container shell void; wherein when the exercise device is in use, movement and rotation of an arm of a user causes movement and rotation of the container housing and movement and rotation of the ball within the container housing in a direction that follows a circumference of the first container shell interior surface, thereby exercising the rotator cuff of the shoulder of the user.
ADJUSTBALE KNOB ASSEMBLY FOR A BALL BAT
An adjustable knob assembly for a ball bat having a tubular handle portion extending about a longitudinal axis. The assembly includes a base and an annular knob. The base includes an end wall and a cylindrical outer wall extending from the end wall. The outer wall is configured to be fixedly coupled to a proximal end of the handle portion of the bat. The outer wall includes a first set of interlocking structure. The annular knob includes an inner radial surface defining a central opening. The inner radial surface includes a second set of interlocking structure. The first and second sets of interlocking structure are positionable between at least a first locked knob position and a second locked knob position.
