INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM
An apparatus includes a communications interface that receives first sensed data from a first sensor attached to a user and second sensed data from a second sensor attached to a user. That apparatus also includes circuitry that analyzes the first sensed data and the second sensed data and provides a display signal that causes a display to produce first visual information regarding a motion of the user and second visual information regarding the motion of the user, the first visual information being different than the second visual information.
WALKING TRAINING APPARATUS AND WALKING TRAINING METHOD THEREFOR
A walking training apparatus includes a walking assistance apparatus attached to a leg of a user, a first pulling mechanism to pull the leg upward and forward, a controller configured to control the first pulling mechanism so that a vertically-upward component of a pulling force applied by the first pulling mechanism reduces a weight of the walking assistance apparatus, and a joint angle detector disposed in the walking assistance apparatus or an image pickup device to take an image of the leg of the user. The controller is configured to make the first pulling mechanism generate an additional pulling force in addition to the pulling force at a start of forward swinging of the leg or during a swinging period of the leg in a walking motion of the user, by using information detected by at least one of the joint angle detector and the image pickup device.
Athletic Training System
A training system which includes a simulated goalkeeper device that is easily assembled and is free standing from the sport goal. The system may be operated via a remote control system, via radio frequency or an automated control system including a sensing loop in line with an activation system, or any other state of the art control system. The system also includes a unique backstop mechanism to further enhance the training process by keeping game pieces in play.
System and method for a motion sensing device which provides a visual or audible indication
A device includes a signaling means and a motion sensor, and logic for activating or controlling the signaling means in response to a sensed motion according to an embedded logic. The device may be used as a toy, and may be shaped like a play ball or as a handheld unit. It may be powered from a battery, either chargeable from an AC power source directly or contactless by using induction or by converting electrical energy from harvested kinetic energy. The embedded logic may activate or control the signaling means, predictably or randomly, in response to sensed acceleration magnitude or direction, such as sensing the crossing of a preset threshold or sensing the peak value. The visual means may be a numeric display for displaying a value associated with the count of the number of times the threshold has been exceeded or the peak magnitude of the acceleration sensed.
USING A MOBILE DEVICE WITH INTEGRATED MOTION SENSING FOR CUSTOMIZED GOLF CLUB FITTING
One aspect of the disclosure relates to a method of swinging a mobile device to simulate swinging of a golf club in order to evaluate a user's golf swing for customized golf club fitting. In an embodiment, the method can be performed by a processor of the mobile device. In another embodiment, the method can be performed for multiple mobile devices concurrently, the method performed at least in part on a cloud-based server. According to an aspect of the invention, a method comprises swinging a mobile device having motion sensors integrated therein to simulate a golf swing; evaluating the simulated golf swing to determine at least one characteristic of a custom-fitted golf club; and outputting information related to the determined at least one characteristic. In an embodiment, the mobile device is held by a user. In an alternate embodiment, the mobile device is attached to a golf club.
Exercise device and patient support apparatus
An exercise device includes one or more connectors adapted to be releasably coupled to a patient support apparatus; a patient-contacting portion adapted to contact a portion of the patient's body and to be resistively moved between a first position and a second position; a first location transceiver; and a sensor adapted to automatically detect movement of the patient-contacting portion between the first and second positions. The exercise device may also include a wireless transceiver adapted to transmit movement data derived from the sensor to a recipient device. In some embodiments, the exercise device is part of a system that includes a patient support apparatus and a second location transceiver positioned thereon. The location transceivers allow a controller to determine if the exercise device is currently coupled to the patient support apparatus or not, and/or to automatically pair the exercise device to the patient support apparatus for wireless communication.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR NEUROLOGIC REHABILITATION
A method and system for rehabilitation of a patient having a physical impairment by providing repetitive motion therapy is disclosed. The system is configured to receive biomechanical data from the patient regarding repetitive movements of the patient performed using a first and second side of the body, respectively, and select, based on the data, an entrainment side according to which repetitive motion therapy is provided. The system further performs repetitive motion therapy by: providing the patient auditory stimulus comprising beat signals output at respective beat times; receiving time-stamped biomechanical data for repetitive movements performed by the patient using the entrainment side in relation to the respective beat times of the beat signals; calculating an entrainment potential for the entrainment side by comparing a timing of the repetitive movements to the timing of the beat signals; and modifying the auditory stimulus as a function of the calculated entrainment potential.
TECHNIQUES FOR PROVIDING CUSTOMIZED EXERCISE-RELATED RECOMMENDATIONS
A classification model is generated based on historical exercise information. User exercise information is classified into an exercise category using the classification model. Recommendations based on the exercise category is identified. A customized exercise recommendation is determined from the identified recommendations based on a comparison of the user exercise information and expected progress data. This customized recommendation is provided to a user device for consumption.
System and Method for a Motion Sensing Device
A device including a visual or audible signaling means and a motion sensor, and logic for activating or controlling the signaling means in response to a sensed motion according to an embedded logic is disclosed. The device may be used as a toy for amusement, and may be shaped like a play ball or as a handheld unit. The device may be powered from a battery, which may be charged from an AC power directly or contactless by using induction or by converting electrical energy from harvested kinetic energy. The embedded logic may activate or control the signaling means, predictably or randomly, in response to the sensed acceleration magnitude or direction, such as sensing the crossing a preset threshold or sensing the peak value. The visual means may be a numeric display for displaying a value associated with the count of the number of times the threshold has been exceeded or the peak magnitude of the acceleration sensed.
