INTERACTIVE HEAVY BAG TRAINING APPARATUS WITH DYNAMIC POSITIONING AND ADAPTIVE CONTROL
20210008428 · 2021-01-14 ·

An apparatus, method, and a non-transitory programmed medium provide a structure to move a heavy bag to simulate sparring along with a method and programmed media to provide selective training experiences. Drive motors in a Cartesian gantry provide multi-axis lateral motion in a horizontal plane. The heavy bag is instrumented to generate information indicative of performance of the user. Also, the heavy bag receives information to prompt a user with indicators such as LEDs. A moving target simulates a boxing match. A user responds to motions of a heavy bag in an X-Y plane whether toward or away from the user. It may be used as a sparring partner. Electronic controls provide a pre-selected pattern of movement. Training programs include sequences designed by professional boxers and trainers. Controls may be adaptive to vary responses of the apparatus in response to user performance.

GRIP WITH ELECTRONIC SYSTEM AND EXTERIOR VENTING

Grip with electronic system and exterior venting. In an embodiment, the grip comprises a main body comprising a shaft cavity extending from an open first end to a second end. The grip also comprises an end cap that is attached to the second end of the main body. The end cap comprises a base adjacent to the second end of the main body, which comprises one or more vent openings to one or more vent paths. The end cap also comprises a side wall extending from the base and defining an interior cavity. The end cap further comprises one or more vent paths. Each vent path provides fluid communication between at least one of the vent opening(s) and at least one of one or more vent holes in an exterior surface of the side wall. An electronic system is positioned within the interior cavity of the end cap.

A system and method for tracking physical activity of a user performing exercise movements and providing feedback and recommendations relating to performing the exercise movements is disclosed. The method includes receiving a stream of sensor data in association with a user performing an exercise movement over a period of time, processing the stream of sensor data, detecting, using a first classifier on the processed stream of sensor data, one or more poses of the user performing the exercise movement, determining, using a second classifier on the one or more detected poses, a classification of the exercise movement and one or more repetitions of the exercise movement, determining, using a third classifier on the one or more detected poses and the one or more repetitions of the exercise movement, feedback including a score for the one or more repetitions, the score indicating an adherence to predefined conditions for correctly performing the exercise movement, and presenting the feedback in real-time in association with the user performing the exercise movement.

Athletic Training Device and System

Disclosed embodiments include athletic training devices and systems. In a non-limiting embodiment, an athletic training device includes: a chassis, a portion of the chassis being configured to receive a ball thereon; a sensor configured to sense presence of a ball on the portion of the chassis; and a display device responsive to the sensor.

Real time golf swing training aid

A sports training aid comprising a body unit, attachable to a person's body or the person's sports implement, is provided with a positioning sensor module; a feedback stimulator; and a processor. The sports training aid is configured to provide instantaneous feedback on motion faults of a studied sports motion, and the body unit is intended to be attached to a person's body (or a person's sports implement) at a representative location, the location being bound to travel a path representative of the studied sports motion, and the positioning sensor module comprises acceleration sensors and gyro sensors, and the processor is configured to determine a still position corresponding to an event wherein the body unit is determined to be still, to keep track of the sensor module's movements relative to the still position, and to activate the feedback stimulator in real time, upon detection of a sports motion fault.

A toe-tapping exercise machine includes: a foot rest part having a right foot rest adapted to seat a user's right foot thereon and a left foot rest adapted to seat the user's left foot thereon; and an operating part coupled to the foot rest part to allow toe portions of the foot rest part to tap each other, the operating part including: a driving motor for transferring rotating power; a right foot rest operator for receiving the rotating power from the driving motor to operate the right foot rest; and a left foot rest operator for receiving the rotating power from the driving motor to operate the left foot rest, the driving motor being disposed between the right foot rest operator and the left foot rest operator and having rotary shafts extended from both sides thereof.

Calibration of initial orientation and position of sports equipment and body segments for inertial sensors
10888735 · 2021-01-12 ·

A player calibrates the initial position and orientation of trajectory using their natural sports motion from a well-defined starting point. For example, a batter with mature swing mechanics maintains approximately the same bat orientation and position (load configuration) at the beginning of their swing. This load configuration is unique to that player and unlike that of other players and may represent the start of a swing (or other motion of interest) or may occur at any characteristic point in time during the motion. Subsequent motion data within the spatial frame can be accurately analyzed so that three-dimensional trajectory of the equipment or body segment can be precisely determined and presented in an animated playing environment on devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops.

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to devices, systems, and methods for implementing drills and providing coaching instructions to users. Embodiments may load a drill, measure values obtained from one or more sensors installed on a player's tennis racket and/or worn on the player's body, and use those values to detect various parameters, such as the physical impact of a ball at the player's racket. Embodiments may then output a coaching instruction to the user. Embodiments may also include adding customized coaching instructions to a drill.
