A METHOD FOR ESTIMATING THE AGEING OF AN EXHAUST GAS SENSOR AND AN INDUSTRIAL VEHICLE FOR IMPLEMENTING THIS METHOD

A method for estimating the ageing of an exhaust gas sensor (16) placed in an exhaust line (14) of a diesel internal combustion engine (10) of an industrial vehicle (1) includes—acquiring (S100) an initial value of an estimated remaining lifetime (50) of the exhaust gas sensor;—measuring (S102) the time spent by the engine in each of several predefined engine operation modes during a predefined time period;—for each of the engine operation modes, calculating (S104) a lifetime loss value depending on the time spent by the engine in said engine operation mode during the predefined time period and on a predefined ageing rate associated to said engine operation mode;—updating (S106) the estimated remaining lifetime value by subtracting each calculated lifetime loss value from the initial value.

Engine speed control device

An engine speed control device performing: a first PID gain calculation step of calculating a target engine speed to thereby calculate a first PID gain based on an engine speed deviation between the target engine speed and an engine speed; a target rack position calculation step of correcting the first PID gain based on a cooling water temperature to thereby calculate a target rack position of a fuel injection pump; a second PID gain calculation step of calculating a second PID gain based on a rack position deviation between the target rack position and a rack position; and a rack control signal producing step of correcting the second PID gain based on a lubricating oil temperature to thereby produce a rack control signal. The engine speed control device thus controls an engine speed by controlling the rack position based on the rack control signal.

It is hereby disclosed a method of controlling an injection apparatus of an internal combustion engine including setting a minimum value (QMIN) of a fuel quantity that can be injected into the internal combustion engine by the injection apparatus with one injection; preventing the injection apparatus from performing post-injections of fuel quantities having a smaller value than the minimum value (QMIN).

When a purge valve opens, a CPU calculates a purge concentration learning value based on an air-fuel ratio detected by an air-fuel ratio sensor. Additionally, under the condition that a temperature increase request of a three-way catalyst is generated, the CPU performs dither control that sets one of a plurality of cylinders as a rich combustion cylinder, which is richer than a theoretical air-fuel ratio, and the remaining cylinders as lean combustion cylinders, which are leaner than the theoretical air-fuel ratio. When the dither control is performed, the CPU forbids the update of the purge concentration learning value.

Electronic evaporative emissions management system

An evaporative emissions control system configured for use with a vehicle fuel tank includes a purge canister, an accelerometer, first and second vent tubes that terminate at first and second vent openings, a first vent valve, a second vent valve, a vent shut-off assembly and a control module. The accelerometer senses acceleration in an x, y and z axis. The first vent valve is fluidly coupled to the first vent tube. The second vent valve is fluidly coupled to the second vent tube. The vent shutoff assembly selectively opens and closes the first and second valves. The control module estimates a location of liquid fuel based on the sensed acceleration from the accelerometer and determines which vent opening is one of submerged and about to be submerged based on the estimated location of the liquid fuel. The control module closes the vent valve associated with the determined vent opening.
