Swim Trainer
20220096912 · 2022-03-31 ·

The ability for a non-swimmer or unskilled swimmer to float horizontally in the water can be lifesaving and can reduce the incidence of drowning deaths. Swim training devices to facilitate teaching of basic flotation techniques to non-swimmers, unskilled swimmers, and for use in rehabilitation therapy and general aqua therapy are disclosed herein. The devices and methods are designed to encourage, facilitate, and increase psychological comfort with floating in a horizontal position, versus a vertical position. The swim trainer device includes a body and a float which may be mounted coplanar with the body, and may be adjustable. Multiple uses and configurations are discussed for use by swim instructors and others working with infants, toddlers, children, and adults.

Self-propelled waterborne wave riding system
11235219 · 2022-02-01 ·

A self-propelled waterborne wave riding system includes a vessel having at least one motor and control system for navigating and propelling the vessel along a body of water. A rider section is located along the top of the vessel and includes a lower platform at the front of the vessel, an upper platform at the back of the vessel, and an elongated angled ride surface that extends between the upper and lower platforms. A pump system is provided along the vessel and includes an impeller assembly that is mechanically coupled to an inboard motor and a water pipe. Water received by the impeller is directed through the water pipe to a horizontally oriented nozzle in the lower platform which pushes the water over the ride surface. Openings in the upper platform return the used water into the body of water.

AQUATIC GAME APPARATUS

An aquatic game apparatus includes a target that is buoyant and configured to float on water. The target has a target portion that has a plurality of target openings for receiving a water skipping article. The target openings may have different opening sizes and different point values. The target portion may be rotated up a target angle from a base portion. The base portion contains floatation units that may be detachable to the target. One or more anchors, which may be fillable weight bags may be coupled to the target by straps and configured to retain the target in a position. The aquatic game apparatus may also contain a backstop having a net to capture water skipping articles that have missed the target. The target and/or the backstop may comprise inflatable floatation units. The target and/or the skipping article may glow in the dark.

Multi-camera system for multidimensional swimming video capture
11153554 · 2021-10-19 · ·

A multi-camera system for multidimensional video capture is particularly useful for recording the movements of swimmers. The system includes a self-propelled mobile frame that is of sufficient size to surround a swimmer while he or she swims. The frame carries a number of equipment pods. Each equipment pod houses cameras, typically a pair of stereocameras, and may house additional sensors as well. Propulsion pods connect the frame to a pair of tracks, one of which is on each side of the frame, and propel the frame along the tracks. The frame may also support one or more booms that carry equipment pods with cameras and allow the system to capture video from additional angles. The frame carries transmission hardware allowing it to communicate video and other data to external receivers and communication devices in real time or near real time, and to receive data from external devices.

ADJUSTABLE EYEWEAR RESTRAINTS, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
20210247624 · 2021-08-12 ·

An adjustable eyewear restraint comprises a first strap having a first adjustment end and a first eyewear coupling end, and a second strap having a second adjustment end and a second eyewear coupling end. The straps are slidably and frictionally engageable to one another to allow adjustment of a length of the restraint by moving adjustment ends of the straps relative to each other. The straps can be slidably interwoven to each other about opening(s) of respective adjustment ends. The opening(s) slidably receive an opposing strap. A strap has a loop, coupleable to eyewear, that comprises first and second edges attached together to form an attachment portion substantially in-line with the first edge. A frictional element is frictionally and slidably coupleable to an earpiece to retain the loop and allow adjustment of a length of an eyewear retainer. Associated systems and methods are provided.
