Treadmill with lighting and safety features
10556168 · 2020-02-11 · ·

A lighting system for a treadmill is described. The treadmill includes a tread that rotates around a front axle and a rear axle. The tread defines a cavity and comprises slats each having a tread surface and an underside. Each slat is attached at longitudinal ends to a respective belt that rotates on bearings around the front axle and the rear axle. The slats are configured with a space between adjacent slats. The lighting system comprises lights located in the cavity. The lights are configured to emit light away from the cavity through the space between the adjacent slats along at least a portion of the treadmill. A controller is in communication with the lights and is configured to control the lights.

Locking system for a treadmill
10556169 · 2020-02-11 · ·

A locking system for a treadmill includes a locking mechanism having a locked configuration that prevents the tread from rotating in a front-to-rear direction and an unlocked configuration which allows the tread to rotate in the front-to-rear direction. A presence sensor and a weight sensor are each configured to detect the user on the treadmill, and a display is configured to receive an inputted code indicating the user is on the treadmill. The controller is configured to move the locking mechanism to the unlocked configuration in response to the controller receiving signals from at least two of the presence sensor, the weight sensor and the display indicating that the user is on the treadmill, and move the locking mechanism to the locked configuration in response to the controller receiving signals from both of the presence sensor and the weight sensor indicating the user is not on the treadmill.

Exercise device providing user defined pedal movements

An exercise device for performing a variety of movement patterns. The exercise device has a pair of linkages, each including an upper link pivotally mounted to a frame and a lower link pivotally coupled to an upper link. A foot support is provided on a distal end of each lower link. A compression link interconnects the lower link to the frame. The compression link includes a shaft coupled to the lower link, a sleeve coupled to the frame and a spring captured between the shaft and the sleeve, whereby the spring provides a resistance to movement of the lower link relative to the frame.

A data processing method, apparatus, and a fitness robot relate to the artificial intelligent field, where the data processing method includes calculating first energy consumption of a user in a preset time interval based on exercise data of the user, obtaining a first body weight change of the user in the preset time interval, predicting, based on the first energy consumption and the first body weight change, second energy consumption and a second body weight change of the user in a future preset time interval, obtaining, based on the first energy consumption, the first body weight change, the second energy consumption, and the second body weight change, a result indicating the user capability of completing an intended fitness plan, and correcting specified energy consumption of the user and a specified body weight change of the user in the preset time interval in the intended fitness plan based on the result.

Offsetting treadmill deck weight during operation

A treadmill includes a deck, an incline mechanism attached to the deck, and a lift assist mechanism that offloads a portion of the lifting force from the incline mechanism when the incline mechanism changes an elevation of a portion of the deck.

A braking system for a treadmill having a tread that rotates around a front axle and a rear axle and a side rail on each side of the tread that does not move includes a brake configured to apply a braking force to one of the front axle and the rear axle, a controller in communication with the brake, and a weight sensor under each side rail configured to detect a load indicating that a user is standing on the side rails, each weight sensor in communication with the controller. The controller is configured to, when the tread is moving, engage the brake when a first signal is received from each weight sensor contemporaneously that a load is detected and disengage the brake when a second signal is received from each weight sensor contemporaneously that the load is removed.
