Mixing Device for Producing a Fuel/Water Mixture for an Internal Combustion Engine, Internal Combustion Engine Having a Mixing Device, and Motor Vehicle
A mixing apparatus for producing a fuel/water mixture for an internal combustion engine includes a fuel line, where via the fuel line a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine is supplyable with fuel, a connecting region, a water line which opens into the fuel line in the connecting region where via the water line water is introducible via the connecting region into the fuel line and is mixable with the fuel, and a valve arrangement which is disposed on the water line. The valve arrangement prevents an entry of the fuel from the fuel line into the water line when a pressure of the fuel in fuel line is higher than a pressure of the water in the water line.
System and method for injecting an aqueous solution on-board a vehicle
The invention relates to a vehicle system for injecting an aqueous solution, said vehicle system comprising: a tank (500) for storing an aqueous solution; an injection system (300) configured for injecting aqueous solution from the tank (500) in an injection zone (Z) in the vehicle; and a UV light decontamination device (700) configured for decontaminating the aqueous solution stored in the tank (500) by emitting UV light.
Device for injecting water in a vehicle, and method for operating such a device
A device for injecting water in a vehicle includes a water container which is connected to a number of injection nozzles via a supply line, with a pumping operation for pumping water from the water container to the injection nozzles via the supply line and with a stationary operation in which the supply line is a closed line system. The supply line is equipped with a blocking device which is open in the pumping operation and which is closed in the stationary operation in order to block the supply line and keep same dry. Water is prevented from being suctioned into the supply line and the injection nozzles at low temperatures as a result of a pressure decrease.
Motor vehicle with liquid container
A motor vehicle includes a liquid container for receiving an operating liquid, a cooling circuit for cooling a drive motor of the motor vehicle via a cooling liquid circulating in the cooling circuit, at least one heating coil arranged in the liquid container, the heating coil being operatively attached to the cooling circuit so that the cooling liquid is to flow through the heating coil and thereby heat the operating liquid, and a connection line operatively attached to the cooling circuit to thereby form a secondary circuit through which the cooling liquid is to flow, wherein the heating coil is arranged in the secondary circuit.
System to feed water to at least one combustion chamber in an internal combustion engine
A system for feeding water to at least one combustion chamber in an internal combustion engine having: a tank designed to contain a quantity of water; a feeding duct; a pump designed to draw water from the tank and to pump pressurised water into the feeding duct; and at least one silver-containing body which is contained in the tank in contact with the water.
Internal combustion engine provided with a system supplying a water-based operator liquid
Internal combustion engine having: a cylinder defining a combustion chamber; an exhaust duct that is flown through by the exhaust gases; and a system to supply a water-based operator liquid to the combustion chamber having: a tank designed to contain a certain amount of water-based operator liquid and a heating device designed to heat the water-based operator liquid contained in the tank. The heating device has: a first gas-liquid heat exchanger, which is designed to be flown through by at least part of the exhaust gases flowing along the exhaust duct; a second liquid-liquid heat exchanger, which is designed to heat the water-based operator liquid contained in the tank; and a hydraulic circuit, which is designed to send round an exchange fluid through the first heat exchanger to transfer the heat from the exhaust gases to the exchange fluid and through the second heat exchanger to transfer the heat from the exchange fluid to the water-based operator liquid contained in the tank.
Device and Method for Supplying Water Into a High-Pressure Fuel Pump of an Internal Combustion Engine Provided in a Motor Vehicle
A device supplies water into a high-pressure fuel pump of a motor vehicle internal combustion engine, wherein the water is admixed to the fuel in the inlet region of the high-pressure fuel pump in a controlled manner by a metering valve, and wherein the device is designed to guide the water at least from a part of a supply line back to the storage container. When viewed in the flow direction from the storage container to the high-pressure fuel pump, a shut-off valve is provided in the supply line upstream of the metering valve, and the supply line is designed to elastically deformably change its volume in a line section positioned between the valves. In an operating method, wherein, after the parking of the motor vehicle in conditions that make it possible for the liquid that is at risk of freezing to freeze, and/or after delivery of the liquid to the high-pressure fuel pump, and with a suitably adjusted upstream fluid pressure, the metering valve is opened and remains open until a portion of the fluid in the section of the supply line leading from the metering valve to the high-pressure fuel pump flows out through the metering valve.
