ATTENTION AND EXERTION BASED SAFETY MECHANISMS IN EXERCISE DEVICES
The present disclosure provides for attention and exertion based safety mechanisms in exercise devices by: identifying a user exercising on an exercise device while the exercise device is in a first state; monitoring a physical state and an attentiveness level of the user while the exercise device is in the first state, wherein monitoring the attentiveness level includes monitoring targets of a gaze of the user within a time window and a consistency of the gaze within the time window; determining, based on the physical state and the attentiveness level of the user, that the user is experiencing a risk of injury above a predefined threshold; and adjusting the exercise device from the first state to a second state to alleviate the risk of injury.
Braking and Locking System for a Treadmill
A system for a manual treadmill having a tread that rotates around a front axle and a rear axle and side rails on opposing sides of the tread includes a brake configured to slow rotation of at least one of the front axle or the rear axle, a controller, and a first presence sensor in communication with the controller, the first presence sensor positioned on a side rail and configured to detect a user on the side rail. The brake is not normally engaged during operation of the treadmill when the tread is moving and the first presence sensor does not detect the user on the side rail. The controller is configured to, in response to the first presence sensor subsequently detecting the user on the side rail, engage the brake.
GARMENT SYSTEM INCLUDING AT LEAST ONE SENSOR AND AT LEAST ONE ACTUATOR RESPONSIVE TO THE SENSOR AND RELATED METHODS
Embodiments disclosed herein relate to a garment system including at least one sensor and at least one actuator that operates responsive to sensing feedback from the at least one sensor to cause a flexible compression garment to selectively constrict or selectively dilate, thereby compressing or relieving compression against at least one body part of a subject. Such selective constriction or dilation can improve muscle functioning or joint functioning during use of motion-conducive equipment, such as an exercise bike or rowing machine.
Exercise apparatus with exercise use verification function and verifying method
An exercise apparatus includes a motor, an operating member driven by the motor, a sensor operable to detect engagement of a user with the operating member, a controller in communication with the operating member and the sensor, and a communication interface in communication with the controller. The controller is configured to generate exercise use data in response to movement of the operating member and the sensor detecting engagement of the user with the operating unit, and the controller transmits the exercise use data to the communication interface.
Multi-angle electric exercise instrument and control method
The present disclosure discloses a multi-angle electric exercise equipment, including: a meridian stretching standing plate which includes a base, standing plate handrails, and an angle adjusting standing plate, a health management system which comprises a health inspection and control unit and a health analysis unit; the standing plate handrails are provided on the base; the angle adjusting standing plate is provided facing the handrails and at one side of the base; an upper surface of the angle adjusting standing plate is provided with a treading area, the angle adjusting standing plate is adjustable in angle; the health analysis unit is used to analyze health information collected by the health inspection and control unit, acquire a health analysis result, and provides a health solution. The present disclosure is mainly used for stretching of meridians of human body, providing multi-angle stretching angle adjustment for exercises of stepped difficulty.
Braking and locking system for a treadmill
A system for a treadmill including a tread that rotates around a front axle and a rear axle and side rails on opposing sides of the tread, comprises a brake configured to slow rotation of at least one of the front axle or the rear axle, a controller, and a first presence sensor in communication with the controller, the first presence sensor positioned on a side rail and configured to detect the user on the side rail. The brake is not engaged during operation of the treadmill when the tread is moving and the first presence sensor does not detect the user on the side rail. The controller is configured to, in response to the first presence sensor subsequently detecting the user on the side rail, engage the brake.
Treadmill with lighting and safety features
A lighting system is described for a treadmill, the treadmill including a tread that rotates around a front axle and a rear axle, wherein the tread comprises slats each having a tread surface and an underside. The lighting system includes a light positioned on at least one slat, wherein the light is configured to emit light between the adjacent slats and a controller in communication with the light and configured to control the light.
System and method for measuring and adjusting physical resistance for athletic activities and fitness equipment
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture for measuring and adjusting physical resistance for athletic activities and fitness equipment are disclosed. An example system includes a user-wearable sensor to measure a first level of physical effort during a first athletic activity using fitness equipment and to generate sensor data indicative of the measured first level of physical effort. The example system also includes a controller to receive the sensor data to perform a comparison of the sensor data and data from second athletic activity indicative of a second level of physical effort, and automatically generate a control signal to adjust a setting of the fitness equipment based on the comparison.
