In a control device of an internal-combustion engine according to the disclosure, an intake throttle valve (25) for adjusting an EGR valve differential pressure (PEGR) is provided, an EGR valve upstream pressure (PEGR0) is estimated by using a target fresh air amount (GAIRCMD) (step 6), a target differential pressure (PEGRCMD) is set to a smaller value as the target fresh air amount (GAIRCMD) becomes smaller (FIG. 5), and a difference between the EGR valve upstream pressure (PEGR0) and the target differential pressure (PEGRCMD) is set as a target valve downstream pressure (P1CMD) (step 7). By using the target fresh air amount (GAIRCMD), the EGR valve upstream pressure (PEGR0), and the target valve downstream pressure (P1CMD), the target EGR valve opening degree (LEGRCMD) is set (step 23), and an EGR valve (43) is controlled based on the target EGR valve opening degree (step 24).

An exhaust gas recirculation control method of an internal combustion engine, the internal combustion engine including: a turbo supercharger; an exhaust gas recirculation passage communicating an exhaust passage with an intake passage at a part upstream of a compressor of the turbo supercharger; an exhaust gas recirculating amount control valve disposed in the exhaust gas recirculation passage; a differential pressure generating valve disposed upstream of a merging portion of fresh air gas and exhaust gas in the intake passage; and a controller adapted to control an opening of the exhaust gas recirculation amount control valve and an opening of the differential pressure generating valve, wherein in the method, the controller cooperatively controls the opening of the exhaust gas recirculation amount control valve and the opening of the differential pressure generating valve to make an exhaust gas recirculation ratio change to a target exhaust gas recirculation ratio at a change rate that prevents abnormal combustion of the internal combustion engine.

An internal combustion engine includes a throttle valve, an EGR passage, an EGR valve, a valve mechanism that adjusts opening and closing characteristics of an intake valve or an exhaust valve of the internal combustion engine, and a controller that controls the throttle valve, the EGR valve and the valve mechanism, based on request torque that is requested of the internal combustion engine. The controller is configured to execute evacuation traveling control that operates the throttle valve to fully open, calculates a target intake air flow amount for achieving the request torque based on an effective opening area of the EGR valve which is stuck, and operates the valve mechanism in accordance with the target intake air flow amount, in at least one time period while the request torque is reducing when the EGR valve is stuck in an open state.
