An apparatus (1) comprising a garment (2), the garment comprising: at least one muscle activity sensor (4, 34) for detecting activity of a muscle at least partially covered by the garment; at least one electrical visual indicator device (14); and a controller (11) configured to: receive an activity signal indicative of detected activity of the muscle from the at least one muscle activity sensor; and cause the at least one electrical visual indicator device to output a visual indication of the detected activity of the muscle in dependence on the received activity signal.
Systems and methods for approximating musculoskeletal dynamics
A system and method for controlling a device, such as a prosthetic limb are provided. A biomimetic controller of the system comprises a signal processor and a musculoskeletal model. The signal processor processes M biological signals received from a residual limb to transform the M biological signals into N activation signals, where M and N are integers and M is less than N. The musculoskeletal model transforms the N activation signals into intended motion signals. A prosthesis controller transforms the intended motion signals into three or more control signals that are outputted from an output port of the prosthesis controller. A controlled device receives the control signals and performs one or more tasks in accordance with the control signals.
EXERCISE MACHINES AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING EXERCISE MACHINES TO ASSIST IN TARGETING A MUSCLE
A method for controlling an exercise machine to assist a user in targeting a muscle for performing an exercise motion. The method includes receiving a target muscle as the muscle to target when performing the exercise motion. The method further includes determining, from a plurality of use conditions, a recommended use condition that would cause operating the exercise machine to focus on the target muscle received. The method further includes guiding the user based on the recommended use condition and/or automatically causing the exercise machine to operate based on the recommended use condition to thereby assist the user in targeting the muscle for performing the exercise motion.
WEIGHT EXERCISE DEVICE AND METHOD
Provided is a weight exercise device. The weight exercise device includes: an exercise body in which a motion is generated according to a weight exercise of a user; a sensor configured to detect the motion of the exercise body; a display configured to output a user interface screen; and a processor configured to control the display to display, on the user interface screen, a first indicator indicating an exercise state of the user corresponding to the detected motion and a second indicator indicating an exercise guide that is recommended when exercising using the exercise body, wherein the processor is further configured to control the display such that a position of the second indicator is adaptively changed based on the exercise state of the user.
