Variable exhaust valve assembly for vehicle

A variable exhaust valve assembly for a vehicle includes an exhaust housing, a power transmission device that transmits rotational power, a shaft that extends through the exhaust housing and is coupled with a valve so as to open and close the exhaust housing, and a heat shielding unit to reduce heat transfer between the power transmission device and the exhaust housing. The power transmission device is configured to regulate an opening degree of the valve. The variable exhaust valve assembly is improved in durability by minimizing damage to power transmission caused by high-temperature heat of exhaust gas, and reducing vibration transmitted to the power transmission device.

Corrosion control is periodically executed to corrode the entire surface of the engine part in contact with the condensate water. The corrosion control includes a set of an anterior half control and a posterior half control. The anterior half control is executed over a first period from time t2 to time t3. In the anterior half control, the engine 12 is operated in a predetermined operating region. The posterior half control is executed over a second period from time t3 to time t4.

EXTERNALLY-DAMPED ELECTROMECHANICAL VALVE ASSEMBLIES

Externally-damped electromechanical valve assemblies well-suited for deployment within high vibratory operating environments, such as those associated with work vehicle engines, are provided. In embodiments, the valve assembly includes a housing through which a flow passage extends, a valve element positioned in the flow passage, a valve actuator, and control electronics electrically coupled to the valve actuator. The valve assembly may also contain a constrained layer damper including a first mass element and a first viscoelastic layer. The first mass element is mounted in suspension to the housing exterior for movement relative thereto when the first mass element is excited by vibrations transmitted through the housing. Constrained between the first mass element and the housing exterior, the first viscoelastic layer deflects in shear as the first mass element moves relative to the housing to attenuate the vibrations transmitted through the housing by conversion of vibrational energy to heat.
