Multi-modal multi-media air filtration system
The present invention relates to a multi-modal multi-media air filtration system which can include: a base having one or more connection features and a filter media assembly, the filter media assembly being configured to attach to the base at a first end and the cap at a second end. The filter media assembly also including a first filter media extending across a primary air flow path and a second filter media extending across a secondary air flow path. The air filtration assembly then includes a blocking mechanism and an actuation assembly being configured to work together so as to selectively open or close the secondary air flow path so as to alternate the degree of filtration passing through the filter media based on the degree of desired filtration.
WATER SEPARATING AIR INDUCTION SYSTEM
A hood air intake and water separation system includes a first separation chamber having a first inlet fluidly coupled to a hood intake vent of the vehicle, a first outlet, and at least one first drain opening. The first separation chamber is configured to separate water and air ingested through the intake and direct the separated water through the at least one first drain opening and direct the separated air through the first outlet. A second separation chamber includes a second inlet fluidly coupled to the first separation chamber first outlet, a second outlet, and at least one second drain opening. A third chamber includes a third inlet fluidly coupled to the second separation chamber second outlet, and a third outlet. The first and second separation chambers are configured to direct ingested water away from an airpath to the engine.
AIR CLEANER
The air cleaner (32) comprises a base member (41) including a base wall (41A) extending substantially horizontally, and a cover member (42) attached to an upper side of the base wall to jointly define a filter chamber (70) for receiving a filter element (43) therein. The air cleaner further includes a passage member (44) communicating with the filter chamber and incorporated with a plurality of air ejection pipes (44C) each surrounded by an annular air inlet passage (44E) fitted with guide vanes (44D) for rotating the air flow, and a case member (45) defining separation chambers (45C) for separating dust from the rotating air flow. The passage member (44) is interposed between the cover member (42) and the case member (45).
A PRECLEANER
A precleaner for use in an air intake system is described, the precleaner comprises a cyclone which defines a volume, the cyclone comprising an inlet and an outlet. The inlet and the outlet are arranged to generate a vortex within the volume of the cyclone when the air pressure at the outlet is lower than the air pressure at the inlet. The cyclone further comprises an aperture. The precleaner further comprises a blocking member arranged to move and concomitantly occlude the aperture only when the air pressure at the outlet is lower than the air pressure at the inlet. An air intake system comprising the precleaner is also disclosed.
Centrifugal air filter for an automotive system
A centrifugal air filter for an automotive system includes a plurality of single separators for setting an air flow passing therethrough in a turbulent motion and a separation area surrounding the plurality of single separators. The separation area receives particles from the air flow due to the centrifugal forces. A filter housing portion is located below a predefined or operation position for receiving particles from the air flow due to gravity, and an intake pipe is connected by an extraction line to a connecting pipe emerging on a filter housing and opening into the filter housing portion.
Precleaner system
A precleaner system for an air intake system. The precleaner system includes precleaners each having flow paths that induce a rotation to air flow and separate out particulate matter. The particulate matter is ejected from an outlet port in each of the flow paths and out of a dust ejector. The precleaned air is collected into a plenum from each of the precleaners. The precleaned air can flow from the plenum to a precleaner system outlet and the precleaned air can be received by an air intake system. A cover can be used to block air flow through one of the precleaners to tune the precleaner system to the desired airflow.
Internal combustion engine having air cleaner
An internal combustion engine (1) having a cylinder (5) having a rearwardly slanted axial line is provided with a plurality of cylindrical cyclone dust collection units (34) commonly connected to an upstream end of a filter dust collection unit (35). Each cyclone dust collection unit includes a main body (44, 45) internally defining a separation chamber (45C), and having an air inlet (31) communicating with outside and an air outlet (73) communicating with the filter dust collection unit, and the separation chamber is provided with a dust ejection hole (45D) directed tangentially in an obliquely forward direction. Thereby, dust ejected from the dust ejection hole is ejected away from the operator of the engine, and is prevented from depositing on the engine.
PRECLEANER FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A pre-cleaner for an internal combustion engine is arranged in an intake passage of the internal combustion engine at an upstream side of a filter of an air cleaner. The pre-cleaner includes a casing that includes a cylindrical side wall and swirl generation vanes that swirl intake air about an axis of the casing. The side wall has a portion located next to an upstream side of the swirl generation vanes that is formed from an air-permeable fibrous molded body.
Airflow for an agricultural harvesting combine
A harvesting combine has a forward power processing unit (PPU) powered by an internal combustion engine, a rear grain cart for storage of harvested grain, a forward operator cab, a cleaning fan assembly located about the forward bottom of the PPU, and rotor and concaves assembly for threshing grain. The harvesting combine is improved by locating a charge fan assembly behind the forward operator cab and drawing air from about the top of the PPU and directing a portion of an air flow from the charge fan assembly downwardly into the cleaning fan assembly.
WATER SEPARATING ARRANGEMENT IN A VEHICLE AIR INTAKE
