An air intake manifold for an internal combustion engine having a top shell and a base weldment. The base weldment is formed by permanent joining of a bottom shell having a plurality of air outlets with a runner assembly having a plurality of runner components each having an air inlet and an air outlet, wherein the plurality of runner components are attached to one another via a support member to form the runner assembly.

A cover covering an engine and an intake duct for introducing fresh air outside an engine room into a combustion chamber of the engine are provided in the engine room. The cover includes a top face cover portion covering the engine from above, and a side face cover portion covering the engine from the lateral side. The intake duct is disposed so as to be continuous to a side edge of the side face cover portion such that the intake duct covers the engine from the lateral side together with the side face cover portion.

An air induction system for a vehicle includes a turbocharger having a compressor side inlet and a bifurcated clean air intake system having a bifurcated conduit. The bifurcated conduit includes an upstream end configured to receive intake air, a downstream end configured to supply intake air to the compressor side inlet, an inner passage configured to supply intake air to the downstream end, and an outer passage disposed about the inner passage and separated from the inner passage by an inner wall, the outer passage configured to selectively receive recirculation backflow from the compressor side inlet. A port is fluidly coupled between the outer passage and another location of the vehicle. The port is configured to selectively evacuate at least a portion of the recirculation backflow to the another location the vehicle.

An outboard motor including an internal combustion engine for propelling a ship is equipped with an air-guiding system using a covering hood surrounding surfaces of the internal combustion engine and auxiliary units. The covering hood is provided with airflow inlet and outlet openings in its interior, and a fan driven by the internal combustion engine influences airflows in the covering hood. An air-guiding system includes channeling devices for partial air flows. First partial air flows are fed as intake air to an engine intake system, and second partial air flows act, with the aid of the fan, on surfaces of the internal combustion engine and the auxiliary units heated by operation of the internal combustion engine. The heated airflows are conveyed by the fan and a third channeling device as exhaust air via an outlet opening in the covering hood outside of the covering hood or into the atmosphere.

A compressor for an intake section of an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle includes an electric motor which has a stator and a rotor where the rotor is drivable by the stator and is rotatable about an axis of rotation relative to the stator. An impeller is drivable by the rotor to compress air which is flowable through the intake section and which is to be supplied to a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine. The rotor is a brushless external rotor such that at least one length region of the stator is disposed in at least one length region of the rotor.
Method and system for an engine variable charge motion system
Methods and systems are provided for introducing a charge motion to a cylinder via a bladder in an intake manifold runner. In one example, a system may include positioning a bladder in an intake port proximate to a cylinder.
AIR INTAKE APPARATUS
This air intake apparatus is mounted on an in-line multi-cylinder engine, and includes a surge tank that includes a throttle body mounting portion at a central portion thereof, one air intake pipe, which is single, and the other air intake pipe, which is single, connected to one end and the other end of the surge tank in a left-right direction, respectively, a first air intake pipe group that is connected to the one air intake pipe and includes a plurality of branched air intake pipes, and a second air intake pipe group that is connected to the other air intake pipe and includes the same number of branched air intake pipes as the plurality of branched air intake pipes.
Moment-cancelling 4-stroke engine
A moment-cancelling, four-stroke engine is disclosed. The engine includes a first cylinder having a first piston and a second cylinder having a second piston, a first crankshaft operably connected to the first piston and a second crankshaft operably connected to the second piston. The first crankshaft rotates in a first direction and the second crankshaft rotates in a second direction that is opposite the first direction to cancel the moments applied to the engine and reduce engine vibration.
MULTIPLE INLET FILTRATION SYSTEM
An apparatus and a method are provided for a multiple inlet air box to communicate an airstream through an air filter to an air intake duct of an internal combustion engine of a vehicle. The multiple inlet air box is comprised of a housing that supports the air filter within an interior of the housing. A mount portion within the housing fixedly receives a base of the air filter. Multiple air inlets couple with corresponding air inlet ports of the vehicle to direct the airstream into the multiple inlet air box. A duct directs the airstream from the multiple air inlets to the interior of the housing. A conduit communicates the airstream from an interior of the air filter to the air intake duct of the internal combustion engine.
Straddle-Type Vehicle
A straddle-type vehicle (100) includes a frame (20) and an engine (10) mounted on the frame (20), the engine (10) includes a cylinder head (11) positioned toward the rear end of the frame, and located below a saddle seat (80). The cylinder head laces toward the rear end of the frame, which allows the heated cylinder head of the engine and the exhaust pipe connected to the cylinder head to avoid contact with the vehicle the user's legs while riding the vehicle, so the effect of heat emitted from the cylinder head on the rider's experience is reduced.
