A retaining groove (30) is formed in the first end wall (16) and/or in the second end wall (28), in which retaining grove the retaining segment (50) is accommodated.
Tunable injection molded resonator
A method including providing a mold cavity to produce an outer contour of an acoustic resonator and providing a mold core to produce an inner contour of the resonator. The inner contour corresponds to a plenum, and a connecting channel in fluid communication with the plenum. An insert fitting adjacent to the mold core defines a length of the connecting channel during injection molding of the resonator.
MUFFLING APPARATUS
There is provided a muffling apparatus capable of sufficiently reducing noise, achieving space saving, and suppressing an increase in air-flow resistance in a suction passage. In a muffling apparatus including a resonator main body having a predetermined volume and a communication tube that allows the resonator main body to communicate with a suction passage of an internal combustion engine, the communication tube includes a first communication tube having one end that communicates with the suction passage, a second communication tube having one end that communicates with the resonator main body, and a continuous section that communicates with other ends of the first and second communication tubes, and a third communication tube is formed at the continuous section.
Muffler
The invention relates to a muffler (1), in particular a vehicle muffler, comprising at least one resonator chamber (12), which is bounded by at least a first housing part (2) having a first outer jacket (15) and a first end wall (16) in which an inflow opening (19) is disposed arranged on the inflow side (25), and a first internal pipe segment (20). Furthermore, at least one coupling device (6) for coupling to a turbocharger (9) is provided, which is accommodated in the first end wall (16) of the first housing part (2). The coupling device (6) comprises a coupling body (7) which is designed as a deep-drawn part. The first housing part (2) is likewise formed by a deep-drawn part, and the inflow opening (19) of the first housing part (2) has an extension which is tapered in steps man axial section (23) in which the coupling body (7) and a sealing element (27), such as a radial sealing ring, are accommodated.
Intake noise reduction structure for vehicle
A bracket 10 has a U-shaped cross section in which a pair of facing plate portions 15 extend from both side edges of a bottom plate portion 12 so as to face each other, and is fixed to a vehicle body side for mounting a predetermined component. The bottom plate portion 12 and the pair of facing plate portions 15 partition a bracket inner space 16, and the bottom plate portion 12 is provided with a through hole 20 which makes the bracket inner space 16 communicate with an outside. A resonator 23 is fixed to the bracket 10 in a state where the resonator 23 is accommodated in the bracket inner space 16. A ventilation passage 29 makes the resonator 23 communicate with the intake duct 21 through the through hole 20.
High temperature noise and vibration enabler for composite resonator
A composite resonator, such as for use in a vehicle air intake system, includes a fiber reinforced contacting a semi-crystalline polymer substrate. The fiber reinforced composite includes a plurality of fibers in a polymer matrix. The composite resonator further includes a particle coating contacting the fiber reinforced composite. The particle coating includes a plurality of particles deposited onto the fiber reinforced composite. In a vehicle air intake system, the composite resonator is connected to the air intake pathway. The vehicle air intake system also includes a turbocharger compressor connected to the air intake pathway.
Noise baffle for a rotary machine and method of making same
A baffle for an air intake section of a rotary machine includes a pair of oppositely disposed perforated walls that at least partially define an exterior of the baffle and an interior cavity of the baffle. The baffle also includes a pair of panels disposed within the interior cavity. Each of the panels is coupled proximate a respective one of the perforated walls, such that a chamber is defined between the panels. Each of the panels includes a first sound absorbing material that is substantially completely vaporizable at an operating temperature of the rotary machine.
RESONATOR ASSEMBLY AND MANUFACTURING PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
A resonator assembly includes an outer tube that extends from an inlet to an outlet. The outer tube has at least two chambers formed along a length of the outer tube. An inner tube extends from an inlet to an outlet. The inner tube includes a plurality of perforations formed about the circumference of the inner tube. The inner tube is positioned with the outer tube. The inner and outer tubes frictionally engage upon assembly sealing the at least two chambers relative to each other.
