Reduced noise compressor recirculation
An air flow-enhancing insert (30) is configured to be inserted into the air inlet (16) of a compressor (3). The insert includes a hollow, cylindrical inner member (32) and lugs (44) protruding outward from an outer surface (36) of the inner member, each lug having an elongated cross sectional shape and including a leading edge (46), a trailing edge (48), and a long axis (50) that extends between the leading edge and trailing edge, the long axis defining a helix about the outer surface. When the insert (30) is disposed in the compressor air inlet, an air recirculation path (20) is defined between the inner member outer surface, an inner surface (17) of the air inlet, and the lugs. The air recirculation path improves air flow in the compressor, whereby compressor efficiency is improved and noise is reduced.
Silencer and Compressor
A silencer of a compressor for aspirating air to be compressed, with a housing having a front plate and a rear plate, a circumferential surface extending between the front plate and rear plate and bordering a suction area, via which the air can be aspirated, and a recess in the rear plate, via which the aspirated air can be supplied to the compressor. A flow-carrying metal component, in particular a wire component, is arranged in or adjacent to the suction area as a flame absorber.
AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY OF VEHICLE HAVING SUPPORTING MEMBERS
An air cleaner assembly includes an air cleaner body into which air flows from outside, an air cleaner cover which is fastened to the air cleaner body and from which the filtered air is exhausted, and an air filter installed between the air cleaner body and the air cleaner cover to filter foreign material, and which is installed at an intake pipe introducing air into an engine from outside, where a diffuser guiding the exhaust of the filtered air is installed at the air cleaner cover; and the supporting member, which supports an outside surface of the diffuser on the air cleaner body and the air cleaner cover and allows air to pass in a longitudinal direction of the diffuser, is installed at the air cleaner body and the air cleaner cover, respectively, thereby supporting the diffuser and tuning the intake sound by the air flowing therein.
TURBOCHARGING ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING OPERATION OF A TURBOCHARGING ASSEMBLY
A turbocharging assembly is described. The turbocharging assembly includes a compressor having a compressor wheel and a turbine having a turbine wheel. The turbine wheel and the compressor wheel are mounted back-to-back on a shaft. The shaft is coupled to a power converter provided in front of the compressor wheel. Additionally, the turbocharging assembly includes a housing extension encasing the power converter. The housing extension is connected with a compressor housing. The power converter includes a rotor and a stator. The stator is mounted to the housing extension. Further, the turbocharging assembly includes a filter silencer arranged between the compressor and the power converter. Yet further, the turbocharging assembly includes a blower mounted to the shaft. The blower is arranged at a side of the power converter facing away from the compressor.

ACOUSTIC ATTENUATION DEVICE FOR AN INTAKE LINE
The invention relates to an acoustic attenuation device (1) for a turbocharger, or for a supercharger, arranged along an air intake line of a vehicle. The attenuation device (1) comprises a gas supply pipe (2) having a peripheral wall (21) and a diameter (d2), the pipe (2) comprising at least one annular chamber (3) defined by a diameter (d3) greater than the diameter (d2) of the pipe (2), the or each annular chamber (3) being sealed by a wall (5) comprising porous material that is positioned in the extension of the peripheral wall (21) of the pipe (2), according to a diameter (d5) substantially equal to the diameter of the pipe (2), in order to allow air to flow between the pipe (2) and the or each peripheral chamber (3).
AIR CLEANER OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
An air cleaner of an internal combustion engine is provided with a first housing including an inlet, a second housing including an outlet, and a filter element located between the first housing and the second housing. A Helmholtz resonator is arranged inside the first housing. An upright wall projects from a bottom wall of the first housing toward the filter element and extends in an axial direction of the inlet. The upright wall forms a chamber of the Helmholtz resonator. A noise-absorption region is defined by the upright wall, a side wall of the first housing, the bottom wall, and the filter element. The noise-absorption region leads to the inlet and extends in the axial direction.
BEARING PLATE NOISE DAMPER
