Fuel injection control apparatus and method for improving deviation of injector opening time

A fuel injection control method of injecting fuel to a combustion chamber through an injector, the method may include performing, by a controller electrically-connected to the injector, a main injection configured of controlling the injector to inject the fuel in a target injection fuel amount; and performing, by the controller, a pre-energizing configured of driving the injector to inject the fuel in advance, before the performing of the main injection with a predetermined idle time interposed therebetween, wherein the performing of the pre-energizing is configured of magnetizing an injector coil of the injector by applying a current to the injector during a predetermined pre-energizing time, in which a flow rate of the fuel is prevented from being generated by the pre-energizing.

PIEZOELECTRIC INJECTOR AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

A piezoelectric injector includes: a first piezo actuator and a second piezo actuator; a control valve connected to the first piezo actuator and the second piezo actuator through a control piston; at least one drain chamber in which the control valve and the control piston are movably received; a control chamber connected to the drain chamber through a first drain throttle and a second drain throttle having different diameters; and a needle movable by a change in fuel pressure of the control chamber to open and close at least one nozzle orifice. As at least one of the first piezo actuator and the second piezo actuator expands, a fuel is drained from the control chamber to the drain chamber through at least one of the first drain throttle and the second drain throttle.

Actuating-type gas guiding device

An actuating-type gas guiding device includes a main body and a piezoelectric actuator. The piezoelectric actuator is disposed in the main body. The piezoelectric actuator includes a suspension plate, an outer frame, at least one bracket and a piezoelectric element. The suspension plate has a first surface and a second surface. The suspension plate is permitted to undergo a bending vibration. The outer frame is arranged around the suspension plate. The at least one bracket is connected between the suspension plate and the outer frame for elastically supporting the suspension plate. The piezoelectric element is attached on the first surface of the suspension plate. In response to a voltage applied to the piezoelectric element, the suspension plate is driven to undergo the bending vibration in a reciprocating manner. Consequently, gas is guided to flow in the main body along a non-scattered linear direction.

Piezoelectric injector and method for controlling the same

A piezoelectric injector includes: a first piezo actuator and a second piezo actuator; a control valve connected to the first piezo actuator and the second piezo actuator through a control piston; at least one drain chamber in which the control valve and the control piston are movably received; a control chamber connected to the drain chamber through a first drain throttle and a second drain throttle having different diameters; and a needle movable by a change in fuel pressure of the control chamber to open and close at least one nozzle orifice. As at least one of the first piezo actuator and the second piezo actuator expands, a fuel is drained from the control chamber to the drain chamber through at least one of the first drain throttle and the second drain throttle.

Fuel injection control device

A fuel injection control device has a valve opening control portion which opens a control valve by electrically charging a piezoelectric element, and a valve closing portion which closes the control valve. The valve opening control portion includes a first rising control portion, a pause control portion and a second control portion. The first rising control portion increases a charge amount of the piezoelectric element during a first rising period. The pause control portion pauses an increase in the charge amount of the piezoelectric element during a pause period after the first rising period. The second rising control portion increases the charging amount of the piezoelectric elements again during a second rising period after the pause period. The pause period includes a period of immediately before the control valve is opened.

FUEL INJECTION CONTROL APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR IMPROVING DEVIATION OF INJECTOR OPENING TIME

A fuel injection control method of injecting fuel to a combustion chamber through an injector, the method may include performing, by a controller electrically-connected to the injector, a main injection configured of controlling the injector to inject the fuel in a target injection fuel amount; and performing, by the controller, a pre-injection configured of driving the injector to inject the fuel in advance, before the performing of the main injection with a predetermined idle time interposed therebetween, wherein the performing of the pre-injection is configured of magnetizing an injector coil of the injector by applying a current to the injector during a predetermined pre-injection time, in which a flow rate of the fuel is prevented from being generated by the pre-injection.

Vehicle fuel injector

A vehicle fuel injector is configured to inject a high-pressure vehicle fuel received from a fuel rail into a combustion chamber. The vehicle fuel injector includes a nozzle which includes a plurality of discharge flow paths which are disposed to be spaced apart from each other in a circumferential direction and pass through the nozzle in a longitudinal direction, and outward flow paths formed on an inner circumferential surface of the nozzle, the nozzle having a hollow shape, and a needle bar which is formed to pass through the inner circumferential surface of the nozzle and vertically reciprocally moves on the inner circumferential surface of the nozzle, where rotation of the needle bar is adjusted in a left or right direction so that the nozzle is opened or closed.

System and method for operating a fuel injector

Methods and systems for operating a direct fuel injector of an internal combustion engine are described. In one example, a nozzle needle is moved in two directions to maintain fuel flow through the direct fuel injector and to reduce the possibility of the nozzle needle impacting a piezoelectric actuator. The method and system may permit long fuel injection times without causing undesirable impacts between components of a fuel injector.
