A fuel injector for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, in particular for direct injection of fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, is described, including a solenoid, an armature, which is acted upon by the solenoid in a closing direction by a return spring, and a valve needle, which is connected to the armature in a force-locked manner for actuation of a valve closing body, which together with a valve face forms a sealing seat. An adjusting element for adjusting the spring force of the return spring is situated in a connector sleeve which provides the fuel feed on the inlet side. The adjusting element is delimited toward the outside by a thin-walled sleeve, into which a disk-shaped throttle element having a throttle borehole is introduced as a separate insert part.

FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY HAVING EXTERNAL FILTER AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME

A fuel injector assembly includes a fuel injector and an annular filter coupled with the fuel injector, the annular filter being snap-fitted with one of a nozzle case or an injector body of the fuel injector and slip-fitted with the other of the nozzle case or the injector body. The annular filter has a perforated wall forming a filtration screen covering an actuation fluid inlet formed in the nozzle case and positioned upstream of the actuation fluid inlet to trap particulates in incoming actuation fluid.

Fluid injector having a director plate

A fluid injector includes a fluid inlet; a valve seat located downstream of the fluid inlet and having a valve seat aperture extending therethrough; a valve member moveable between a closed position and an open position to control flow through the valve seat aperture; and director plate including a first aperture and a second aperture extending therethrough. A fluid flow channel is formed between the valve seat and the director plate and extends from an inlet end to an outlet end. The first aperture and the second aperture extend through the director plate from the fluid flow channel. The first aperture is located between the inlet end and the second aperture. The fluid flow channel decreases in cross-sectional area from the inlet end toward the first aperture and the fluid flow channel increases in cross-sectional area from the first aperture toward the second aperture.

VALVE ASSEMBLY FOR AN INJECTION VALVE AND INJECTION VALVE

A valve assembly for an injection valve includes a valve body that includes a cavity with a fluid inlet portion and a fluid outlet portion. The cavity includes a first portion extending from the fluid inlet portion to a bottom surface and a second portion extending from a central opening in the bottom surface down towards the fluid outlet portion. The valve assembly includes a valve needle axially movable in the cavity. The valve needle includes a shaft and a ball; the ball cooperating with a valve seat to prevent a fluid flow through the fluid outlet portion in a closing position and to release the fluid flow through the fluid outlet portion in further positions. The valve assembly includes a seat body forming the valve seat and a ball guide. The valve assembly includes where a lower particle filter is entirely arranged in the second portion of the cavity.

A filter for filtering hydraulic fluid in a hydraulically actuated fuel injector. The filter includes a first disc structure and a second disc structure disposed axially spaced apart from the first disc structure. The second disc structure is also disposed parallel to the first disc structure. The filter further includes an intermediate structure extending from the first disc structure to the second disc structure. The intermediate structure includes a first surface and a second surface disposed opposite and parallel to the first surface. The intermediate structure defines a plurality of passages extending from the first surface to the second surface. Each of the plurality of passages is perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the filter.

FUEL-INJECTION VALVE

A fuel-injection valve provided with a fuel filter (13) in a fuel supply unit into which fuel flows, wherein: the fuel filter (13) is provided with a filtering part (X1) that is disposed along the circumferential direction of the fuel filter (13) and along the central axis line (13x) thereof and that is provided with a net-like member (13c) which captures foreign objects mixed in with fuel flowing from the radially inner side to the radially outer side of the fuel filter (13); and the fuel filter (13) has, on the upstream side from the filtering part (X1), first fuel swirl generation units (13d-1, 13d-2, 13d-4) which generate swirl in the fuel that flows down along the inner circumferential surface of the filtering part (X1).

A needle has a seal portion that contacts a valve seat, and is provided so as to be able to reciprocate inside a valve body. A sack chamber is formed between the seal portion and a recess. A seal portion is formed in a curved shape protruding in the axial direction of the needle. A distance between an inlet intersection and a needle intersection on a same virtual straight line is defined as a distance Dh, and a distance between the recess and the seal portion on an axis of the valve body is defined as a distance Ds. When the seal portion is in contact with the valve seat, the distance Dh is larger than the distance Ds (Dh>Ds).
